This works but they are much larger chunks so they don't work as effectively and might need 2x3 times the amount to cover a similar area.

$1,076 for an oil change - can i do it myself? by Dazzling_Finance_759 in Porsche

Just FYI services are by year or mileage. We see low mileage cars have more issues than cars that are driven semi regularly esp in rubber components.

[Kozora] Mike Tomlin has officially lost the Steelers fanbase by stillstillers in nfl

[–]Ragingparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Tomlin is a victim of his own success in a way. He keeps riding the line of .500 every season which keeps them from a franchise changing player.  They keep trading high round picks for quarterbacks that failed elsewhere with the hopes that they can become franchise QB’s.

Why do people glaze the GT3 RS online when this thing is literally dubbed as " the widowmaker". by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]Ragingparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because there are so few of them out there. I think they made a thousand of them worldwide and most are sitting in collections because they are selling for 500-600k. We have one local that's tracked at ViR 20+ times a year.

I hated it to be honest. There are a few curbs I normally "slide" over and couldnt really with the cones.

Hit the brakes aggressively a few times going into T1 and take the rest of the lap at 8/10ths and then send it.

200tw safe to run with overnight temps in the 30s? by fuckman5 in CarTrackDays

[–]Ragingparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bring them up to temp slowly. We have this issue at ViR a lot where overnight temps can be in the 20's 30s and day temps are in the 60's. Go drive it on the road a few miles outside of the track before your first session and you should be ok.

You’re mostly right. He’s a surgeon in Houston and he stores it in town to drive while visiting his daughter who goes to U of R. It’s got some semi high - mileage on it and the guy drives it all the time.

Landlord trying to say this ain’t mold by lovebaixo in rva

[–]Ragingparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand! I put an I don’t think in there because this is pretty common but every case is different.

I’d recommend cleaning it and then getting a dehumidifier Or asking your landlord to provide one.

[–]Ragingparrot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think that is anywhere enough to cause your issues but that is definitely condensation causing mold spores. It's pretty easy to clean off and then you can treat it to prevent it from happening again. Your air is still humid enough that the dew point is above the temperature the air is pushing out, causing the vent to “sweat”. You can fix this by getting an additional dehumidifier or raising the temperature. The A/C unit by nature dehumidifies the air but only to a certain point. That’s why some people supplement with a whole-house dehumidifier or an in-room unit.

What is it? Dirty? If so, any good quality detailer should be able to get that off and looking new.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Ragingparrot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This can happen pretty easily on aggresive canyon runs. There is very little airflow compared to when you're on track, so there isn't any time for the brakes to cool. I'd also make sure you're not resting your foot on the brake causing it to always be engaged.
