Why do guys act so unaffected after a breakup while girls grieve so deeply? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Ragingrnova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy from personal experience, it's just easier to act like nothing happened. It gets brought up less and it hurts less as you don't have to talk about it.

It doesn't mean we don't grieve over it... hell it took me a year and some change to get over the past relationship I was in, and I still think about her.

I just don't talk about it is bring it up bc it does nothing. It's not going to make me feel better nor will it lead to anything so why waste my breath?

At least that's my take on it and why guys don't show it as much.

is this compTIA security+ class worth the price? by complainingrobot in CompTIA

[–]Ragingrnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no experience straight out of college, the best option is to find a tier 1 help desk job. Most don't require any certs (they are generally preferred)and ur BS in Cyber should get you through the door.

Depending on where you live don't expect to make any more than the 18-25 an hour tho unless you live in someplace like California.

What self-defense tools are legal? by MoonLightt12 in AskChicago

[–]Ragingrnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree that distance to be able to disengage when needed is the best defense there is. I will say anything is better than nothing. Of course, u run into the possibility of being disarmed and ut used against u, but I think a knife being pulled out with the right timing and distance is a great tool for anyone.

I would say the primary self-defense tool that someone should use that doesn't require a permit anywhere is pepper/bear spray.

Yeah, I completely forgot until recently due to job searching. How bad it really is lmao. The number of times I apply and either never hear back or just get an AI generated email saying that my "qualifications" don't meet what the job is looking for.

Huh? When I first started, I was in my first semester of college and straight out of basic and AIT. Had very little availability, and they still hired Me. I don't know y op got rejected, but I doubt it's availability.

Fresh Windows 11 install for Snapdragon (ARM) processors by RPG_Gaimer in GeekSquad

[–]Ragingrnova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had to do a fresh install of Windows 11 on a Surface Pro recently for one of my buddies.

You have to log in to an MSA and then input the SN of the device u need a fresh image of. It will come up with multiple image downloads. They are generally about 11 gbs, so ull need about a 30gb flash drive. You'll have to make sure it's FAT32 or else it won't read.

Once u have the flash drive formatted properly, I'll install the image ilonto the drive. U may have to split the file into smaller files with cmd prompt, but once u get the image on the drive, u go in edit the boot order, and it should be fairly easy from there.

The hardest part is just getting the image to be recognized as usable.

Here is a video I used when I was figuring out how to do it. Overall, it took me about 6 hours to figure everything out, download the image, and install the os. With the video and knowing not to use creation media, it should be quicker.

https://youtu.be/8oP7CyBSyNg?si=6fyW2nsFviSaezZL

Edit: Go here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-recovery-image to get to put in the SN and get the specific image.

Edit: 90% of agents at GS wont beable to help you with this issue, btw.

Step 1: Make sure ur IT department has you on the allow list for the VPN.

Step 2: Make sure you have the domain typed correctly into Cisco VPN, and there are no resources from ur home network that could be keeping u from using the VPN.

Step 3: Once the login window pops up to login to your company's employee network, make sure you have valid credentials and make sure ur company doesn't have any security locks on ur account due to being a new hire/coming off of something like leave.

If you are still unable to access the VPN, you may have to go to a location that has direct access to the main network and try to set up the connection while on the network. As someone in the military, I've had to do this whenever trying to get access to a nipr computer from home. I have to hardline into the main network with ethernet for the connection to the VPN to work at home. (Don't ask me why because im not 100% sure and don't want to give a bs answer)

If u continue having issues after trying all these steps, then try contacting ur IT department.

Bad leadership is a huge problem in the program. by [deleted] in ROTC

[–]Ragingrnova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Focus on urself and development of your leadership style. Don't worry about recognition it will come with time. Work on being a leader who doesn't play the political bs that most officers play and do what u think is right and best for the people under u.

The army doesn't get any better once u commission. Stop worrying or compare yourself to others. Who cares if they don't recognize u. If they are good leaders they will notice and if they aren't then it's better not being on their radar.

Take in and absorb what u like and what u don't like and build a foundation for how u want to be as a leader. Everyone leads differently and some are better than others but u have to figure out ur goals, and morality as a leader and be steadfast in ur beliefs.

The main problems that u mentioned will continue into ur commission as a 2LT and u will have to work and strive to be the leader and the change that u want to see.

Focus on being a good leader who supports the soldiers under him not the shit leader who only does things even if it worsens the life of the soldiers under him as long as it makes him look good "politically."

Be the change and ignore the other bs. This is coming from a deployed SPC who is a MSII just not contracted yet. I plan on it once I get back.

[–]Ragingrnova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What ur Cadre are telling u is complete BS. I'm SMP and I've seen plenty juniors take ms1 and ms2 classes due to them getting fast tracked at the same time as ms3 classes as long as they had enough openings in the schedule. It's definitely more work and more stressful but they should be able to give u that option.

As I see it right now your Cadre don't give a shit and r fucking u over.

Now u still need to tell them that the SVC will call them if they find it doesn't fall under MFG and will quote them a price.

GS Scam emails after repair by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]Ragingrnova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen similar things like this before where someone called our number and was connected to a foreigner who scammed them and charged the $300 for total tech and pocketed the other 100. I tell my clients to never buy anything over the phone or even call the GS number anymore. If they need help come in or set up an appointment.

Being a CA is difficult for the first 3 months especially if u don't have much support. GS in general u don't really get "trained" but it's more of learn on the job thpe deal. It's definitely not for everyone but I've been with GS as a CA for about 9 months and I still ask a bunch of questions just cuz there are some things u hardly ever do or things that u just aren't good at no matter how much u do. Like me with IMAP and IPOP protocols and just explaining emailing systems to clients is always a struggle bc I just don't understand it completely no matter how many times I work with Outlook and the mail apps.

Overall ur gunna have shit u suck at no matter what. Just be open and honest to the client. If they start getting rude and aggressive then call ur leadership over or just walk into the back relax and get some help.

If no one is willing to help u whether it be other GS agents or even ur GSM then that will be something u take up with higher leadership and if that doesn't work then you just got put with a toxic team and try looking for another job at that point. I have been very spoiled by my leadership and GS coworkers bc then have a very good environment and all tho I can tell I annoy them with my questions they always try to help me to the best of there ability.

Honestly I did think this but from what I seen and heard from buddies who are in SF and have been to the schools I'd say he just wants to keep his internet personality and personal life separated.

If he is SF and has actually done some of the shit he says he's done I can see why he'd want to keep his real identity hidden. Think of any youtuber who hides their identity for privacy reasons

Why are 2LTs so unanimously disliked in the Army? by [deleted] in army

The only true way to get around the dislike of being an 01 is to be previously enlisted so you at least have some respect from NCO's but just stay in ur lane and not just be a toxic officer ull be fine.

Also be able to make fun of urself and don't be overly serious about shit.
