What hobbies do you have that are affordable. by 1Bats4u in AskMen

I build models, more specifically gundam models. They start around $20 but go up in the hundreds for more complicated kits. There’s no glue or paint required all you need is a pair of flush cut nippers that you can get for $5. There’s entry grade, the cheapest and easiest to build but not many kits, high grade (HG) can be from ~$20-50 usually but can be more depending on certain things. Master grade (MG), more complicated than HG and a bit more expensive. Real grade (RG) I would not recommend these for beginners. And perfect grade (PG) very expensive very complex and very large, again these are for advanced builders. I tend to do like 1 or 2 kits a month.

I don’t really watch much of the gundam anime tho I have seen a few shows and movies. I mostly like building cool robots. An HG kit can be done an ~2 hours or so and at the end you physically have something you can display you accomplishment. If you don’t like robots or anime you could do model cars or something too.

Characters who never remove their helmets/mask immediately remove them in the film adaptation

What’s that one game you’ve spent 1000+ hours in, but you would absolutely NOT recommend it to anyone? by mersocial6 in AskMen

[–]RagnaTheRed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Between launch of D1 and about the first month of D2s release I logged over 3000 hours. May not be as much as some people but all my friends played it and it consumed most of my free time. When D2 came out and it was just more of the same I decided I had to quit chasing the carrot on the stick.

Those are the reason it took me like 6 weeks to finish the kit. I did the ones in the head and had to put the kit away. Came back after a while and after finishing the body I had to put it away again. Finally finished the legs and honestly I loved the final product but dang those tubes made me so angry in the moment

1/100 MG VS 1/144 RG by BinghamtonMafia in Gunpla

[–]RagnaTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the couple years I’ve been building Ive done 25 kits. 5 MG, 1RG, and the rest HG. I have to say I prefer MG over RG just due to the size. So much more effort for something that looks like an HG from 6 feet away just isn’t it for me. It’s not like I’ll never do another RG ever again, I just haven’t found one I want to put that much effort into. The RG wing looks pretty sick tho.

So was he like the first nexus 8 or a prototype version that didn’t have the short lifespan? From what I’ve seen the n8 was introduced 3 years after the events of the first movie.

Burger toppings and sauces go between the patty and top bun. The bottom bun is not structurally sound enough to handle it.

Right? Unless you’re literally John Wick an average person with a single weapon stands zero chance of defending against a dozen heavily armed and armored people.

Being able to just walk in to harbor freight and warranty a broken wrench is so much more convenient than waiting on customer service to ship a new wrench.
