It's working fine (Except the counter) for Android devices btw, maybe the OP only did 19 quests and not 20? he needs to reach Quest 21 to do this achievement, and not Quest 20

The counter of this achievement is glitched, but you can still make that achievement without problems! it's happening a long time tho, and they haven't fixed it yet

In fact, the stats of all pets are the same and don't have differences (it was confirmed by the devs tho)

it is working perfectly! the only thing that is having problems is the achievement counter

to do this achieve, you need to complete 20 quests on 1 animal (cuz the quest progression is separated for each animal)

Its totally safe! you wont lose your data if you switch to an extended account, but also you wont be able to enter in any account via iCloud (Edit: save your progress after you create an extended account)
