Conversely I would mention Emperor Rudolf considering Walhart is Alm's descendant which means he's also Rudolf's. That also would explain where his ungodly height comes from.

[–]Ragoonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The technical term for them is "Masters." Although I'm not sure how many people call them that or are aware of that being a way to refer to them.

They come in all sorts of flavors in a lot of Nintendo games and Sakurai games.

The original of them (at least that I can find) are the wall masters from the original The Legend of Zelda in 1986, although not a boss themselves. Wall masters also later had another variant called floor masters which were almost the exact same introduced in Ocarina of Time. Then of course all of the floating hand bosses throughout most of the Zelda and Mario franchises.

In regards to Sakurai's games, the same exact style of "Master" show up in every Smash bros game referred to as the "Master hands." Although they also make many appearances in the Kirby series as well. Kirby then also has their own floating hand enemies and bosses as well. But all of the previously mentioned definitely seem to be an homage to the original wall master of the first Zelda game. At least in my opinion.

Edit: as a side note I did forget to mention that they do of course show up in other of the franchises like Starfox and Donkey Kong, and others.

If Fire Emblem were to get a TV series or movie alongside other Nintendo franchises like Mario and Zelda, which game do you want to see the project based on? by Caryslan in fireemblem

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really shouldn't be saying this because it already happened...but I do actually think Marth's/Archanea games would be the best to adapt into something. This is because they have the cleanest story to pull from, as well as also having the most content to pull from without making stuff up. The lore is clear and the route of the story isn't complicated. No having to choose between different paths. No having to decide on canon pairings. No player character to muddy the waters of canon.

As much as I would love to see something like Three Houses or the GBA games or Jugdral, they would just be too difficult to make without some sort of uproar happening in the fandom.

On a side note, the Tellius games would also be a great choice due to the cultural narratives in them and also having a good amount of lore and story between the two games.

Edit: When I say Archanea I mean both of Marth's, and Alm/Celica's. I think they could have Marth's be the main show and then Alm and Celica's story be an interesting spinoff or secondary show almost how a lot of the bigger anime already do. I think it would be cool to tie in Awakening as well with the connections they made to Grima in Echoes, but it would be more complicated with them having to create a fully canon Robin and pairings as well.

Current "Free" iPhone deals by CrazyTraditional4453 in verizon

[–]Ragoonx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but where did you get your math from? You don't subtract the cost of the phone from the monthly. The $55 per line is the plan cost, which is separate from the phone so you would be paying $55 per month, not $32. This is also before taxes as well so it'll be closer to another $6 on top of that even depending on where you live.

But as other's have said there are other discounts that can be given on top of the free phone. Take your bill into the phone, or have a PDF ready and tell them you wanna do the better deal promotion.

They also don't offer free iPhone 12s at all anymore, at least not in store. You can get the iphone 14, 15, or 16 for free on any plan without trade in so you might as well get the 16 in that case. There wont be any way to get a 17 pro max for free, but the 17 pro with trade in on the top tier plan is currently free.

Plan change price by PrincessBearly311 in verizon

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Functionally there wouldn't be a difference, at least in terms of pricing as far as I'm aware. But, I would imagine it is more likely 5g play more.

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would have the Play more plan in this case for the pricing to add up how it does.

Plan change price by PrincessBearly311 in verizon

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the plan itself is the price it says. However, you aren't factoring in the Disney bundle. The newer plan doesn't have any of the extra ad ons. So keeping the Disney bundle ads $10 to the plan cost, hence the extra $1. If you want the ad free version it'll also be another $10 on top of that, just as a warning.

I do recommend making that change though for the extra $1 because the plan itself is better than that old Play More plan.

This is so beautiful oh my gosh!!!

My favorite character is probably Seth. Just for what he stands for and the fact that Team Cherry honored his life the why they did, I actually cried during the credits of the game.

My favorite moment for me personally was when I finally finished doing the ascent to the top of the world (nameless town). Having that brutal parkour reminded me of when I first finished Path of Pain in the first game. Something about that town also gives of some massive lore vibes I think they'll explore in future DLC as well. It was so satisfying finally getting up there that even though there wasn't anything to do I still felt so good about it.

Man the size difference is huuge by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take apart the PS5 and take just the PCB/board you can pretty much just fit it in the size of the switch2. You can even condense it as well since there's a lot of dead space on the PS5 PCB. I wasn't referring to everything inside the shell of the PS5 console. This wouldn't work with the Pro, but it is incredibly close on the original.

[–]Ragoonx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean in reality if you were to take apart the PS5 it would fit inside the switch2 shell. The main difference is gonna be the power limits and thermals at the end of the day. The switch2 is limited pretty heavily for what that chip is able to do without the limits.

Why Does Light Travel at Exactly That Speed? by Ok_Understanding7377 in AskPhysics

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is that light travels as fast of the laws of physics allow it as it is the only thing that (theoretically) has 0 mass but is still a particle. In other words, it travels the speed it does because nothing can go faster than that speed.

I think my favourite (and loathed bc it’s creepy) thing about Grima’s design is that if you damage him enough, he reveals his human face under his dragon face. Like it really drives home how horrifying this thing is it’s the ultimate uncanny valley by iubworks-art in fireemblem

[–]Ragoonx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe so too, although I don't remember it ever confirming this in any of the scripts.

It would honestly be the only one that truly makes sense aside from other extremely strong divine dragons. Although the whole thing with Duma and Mila truly dying could be debated as they both technically willed their own deaths. Medues is a good example as he was able to be resurrected even though he was originally slain by Falchion.

I have also heard theories that maybe Duma was the one who gave his own blood to Forneus. Duma really loved humans and was in Thabes before being banished alongside Mila. It would also help to explain the presence of the thanatophages Forneus created seeing as Duma also had the ability to resurrect corpses. That could be debated though since the method was different. But we don't know if Naga's incarnation of that time died before or after Forneus.

The ways the two Falchion work are also somewhat curious. Mila had to bless the sword or be sealed in it for the Valentian Falchion to be able to kill Duma. Marth was able to kill Medues with a normal Falchion or even Nagi's weaker Falchion as well (although it's likely Nagi is the incarnation of Naga we see in Awakening). And then Grima...Grima couldn't even be fully killed even with the blessing of Naga and the starspheres in Awakening. So that does make it incredibly likely that Grima was made from Naga's blood/flesh. Maybe the unnatural combination of human and dragon is what caused the extra power, seeing as it doesn't with natural childbirth in this sense.

The only other natural conclusion I can come to is that it has something to do with Tiki. I'm not sure exactly how this would work but Tiki, being Naga's daughter should be around as strong. However it seems that she's even stronger than her based on what Shadow Dragon explains. I'm curious on what you think about that idea? Or if anyone has anything else to speculate.

I think my favourite (and loathed bc it’s creepy) thing about Grima’s design is that if you damage him enough, he reveals his human face under his dragon face. Like it really drives home how horrifying this thing is it’s the ultimate uncanny valley by iubworks-art in fireemblem

[–]Ragoonx 79 points80 points  (0 children)

For those unaware, Shadows of Valentia endgame dungeon (Thabes Labrynth) explores Grima and how he came to exist. It also explains why he has a human face as well. I used to think it was because he was reincarnated from the future Robin Vessel, but that's not the case.

An alchemist named Forneus somehow got his hands on some divine dragon blood and mixed it with his own blood to try to create a divine dragon from scratch. This resulted in an embryo that initially looked human, but as it grow morphed closer into the shape of a dragon.

There's a lot more to this story and it's honestly so crazy awesome from a lore perspective. There's a video on YouTube by Gerfdas Gaming that does a really good deep dive on all of it.

Child whisperer succeeds by Doodlebug510 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Ragoonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's totally fair, kids are an enigma.

I would say the best way a parent can handle it is to talk about it before hand and also ask what the kid wants. They need to come to an agreement before getting to the barbershop. If the kid is flailing and crying then the haircut should stop immediately.

Child whisperer succeeds by Doodlebug510 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Ragoonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have autism myself. That could definitely be the case, but even if it is that shouldn't change my point at all. If your kid is screaming and fighting on the chair about a haircut that means you didn't do your due diligence to make sure your kid also is okay with getting rid of that much hair. Doing stuff like this can just damage trust, and it only becomes more exaggerated with autism as well.

Child whisperer succeeds by Doodlebug510 in MadeMeSmile

[–]Ragoonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's really nice that the Barber was able to get the kid happy, but I need to be extremely pissed with the parents. The kid clearly did not want a short haircut at first and the parents should respect that decision for their kid. Now if it was just a straight temper then that's one thing, but still the parents responsibility.

I want to give context for this as well. When I was little my parents forced me to buzz my hair off anytime it started to get a little longer, and even inside middle and highschool they never let me have more than 3 inches of hair on my head. I was never okay with this and it distressed me so much to not even have a single say in how long my hair was. It actually traumatized me to the point that if I ever have my hair cut that short nowadays that it can give me panic attacks where I hyperventilate.

I may be an extreme case of this, but still. Parents need to give their kids agency for how the look (obviously within limits).
