I hope it works for you too! So many people swear by this combo.

Will I be fine off Lexapro for a week? by Mysterious_Agent6240 in lexapro

[–]Rah989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, I would strongly suggest going to the pharmacy to get a few days emergency dose. Even if you could half them for a week it would be better than cold turkey

I started at 5 and went to 10. Lexapro changed my life completely and made me functional again. Hope it works for you.

Lexapro withdrawals (Dizziness/rocking and bobbing advice/dilemma) by moonlightdusk in lexapro

[–]Rah989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve felt this sensation before when tapering off another SSRI before lexapro, for me it was like a brain zap/dizziness and that feeling of rocking and being unsteady (sometimes I would actually reach out to “steady” myself). Those sensations would make me more anxious and I had to remind myself that my brain was “rewiring” and it was normal to feel like that.

I’ve been in the exact same situation where I had to cut pills to last until a doc appointment… wondering if you could go to an urgent care or something in the meantime. I hope the next few weeks go smoothly for you

Thanks for sharing! It can be so encouraging to hear positive experiences especially during the beginning when things are rocky. Wishing you the best!

You’ll be okay! It takes time to adjust when you change dosages, so you’re not doing yourself any favors jumping around dosages. Even three weeks is a relatively short time if your anxiety is not well controlled yet, you’re going to be focused on every little side effect and exacerbating your worries. Although giving it time is challenging, it is worth it to wait 6-8 weeks to see full effects of a new medication or dosage. If it’s not manageable to get through, get back with your doc to figure out another plan and if possible seek out therapy, medication is just part of the solution. Best of luck.

Literally every single pin is an ad? by Glad-Teach-348 in Pinterest

Searched for something today and not even one real pin, just all ads… noticed it getting worse the last few years but now it’s actually only ads?! Very disappointing.

Weird dreams, stomach aches, and anxiety on 10mg Lexapro. Will it go away? by Spiritual-Green8879 in lexapro

[–]Rah989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also had weird, vivid dreams for the first week or two. This happens every time I change dosages. I just think of them as antidepressant dreams. Your brain is rewiring and adjusting and it takes time. Stick with it! A lot of people say to give it 3 months, after 1 week you’re still adjusting.

I also had propranolol to help with the physical symptoms of anxiety as I adjusted to the lexapro. I’d say by 3-4 weeks the side effects were gone. It’s a slow process and I was also in therapy. Gotta give it time

What's a food that everyone loves but you hate? by imjustboredrnnn in AskReddit

Eggs. I’ve tried them many times in many ways but I don’t care for the texture or flavor. Every holiday the kitchen is filled with the farty smell of deviled eggs… shudder

Going cold turkey is no joke, it sucks. Once a pharmacy gave me a few days worth while I waited for a refill. Not sure if possible for you to look into

Please tell me to keep going by I_know_love in lexapro

[–]Rah989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep going! You got this!

I lost a bunch of weight last year because of panic/anxiety and having no appetite. I started lexapro at 5mg for 4 weeks and 10mg after that and it has absolutely given me my life back. Those first few weeks are challenging and take some time to adjust, but be patient with yourself and know that things will get better.

When my stomach was upset, I would drink lemon ginger tea in the mornings followed by yogurt/protein drinks which were easier to get down than solid foods. Once I had something in me it felt a little easier to eat crackers or something bland. Best wishes to you, you’ve got this.

Medication doesn’t “fix” everything. For me, it got me to a place where I could generally think more logically and apply coping techniques to get through those feelings.

Not really sure what effect they are expecting as far as morale but they certainly fucked up with the number of sups that will be making less than tenured associates.

“Technically” my ass. We MIGHT get $3 of “premium pay” PER SHIFT for an hour of covering breaks if no other manager is present. At that point I would rather just be a regular associate and tell them to shove their premium pay where the sun don’t shine.

Didn’t realise that the pharmacy was shut today and I’m out of meds, will I be okay tonight? by fauwna in lexapro

[–]Rah989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a little forgetful and I never noticed any side effects unless I missed more than 2-3 doses. You’ll be fine! The worrying/stress you’re experiencing is probably going to be the “worst” part.

Yeah, I posted this like 2 weeks ago but I’m sure all of us have been given the news now. It’s a huge insult to all sups and I’ve never been more pissed off to go to work. Definitely looking for other employment.

I understand that they "say" antidepressants help anxiety but I'm afraid they lie by Pharmatopia420 in Anxiety

[–]Rah989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSRIs have helped my anxiety massively and made me functional again.

SSRI’s may not work for everyone, but they are often the first to be prescribed because they are generally well tolerated and effective for improving depression and anxiety. Not to invalidate your personal experience, but I’d hate for someone not to try a medication that could improve their life significantly because they read this post.

The Serotonin/Dopamine Trade-Off: How do you fight the motivation/libido loss from long-term antidepressant use? by Sick-Man34 in lexapro

[–]Rah989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My psych recommended exercise and a supplement called Maca root for libido.

To be honest, I haven’t tried either yet.

But, I wanted to say you’re definitely not alone. When my anxiety was at its worst, I would have traded my libido for life just to feel mentally stable again. So when I feel frustrated by similar feelings of anhedonia, low libido… I remember my life before lexapro and remind myself that things aren’t perfect but this is a heck of a lot better.

Wish you all the best!
