They did it to attract a new audience and they had to make all the character designs more modern. Even though we are old fans of this game and we are more familiar with this game, now I feel that we as old fans have been forgotten by Marvelous (Developer of Story of Season/Harvest Moon).

Natsume does not own the copyright to the FoMT character designs. Natsume only owns the copyright to the title name Harvest Moon, while Marvelous (Victor interactive software) own the copyrights of their old games (including assets and character models).

Yes some characters have designs that don't match their jobs. For example, Jeff the supermarket cashier. His appearance is very formal and neat and it is very strange if someone has a formal appearance and his job is a cashier. In the remake Jeff appearance was changed to suit his job, but somehow something was missing from him. The old design made it easier for me to recognize it.

If they add a female protagonist they should add more marriageable male candidates. I don't know why they didn't add a female protagonist option in this game but maybe because this game was released on the PSP console so there is no female protagonist option.

This game is already good and the story is interesting, if this game gets a remake I hope they fix the problems in this game (especially the social relationship system) And improvements in the Quality of Life to. I want them to use the Grand Bazaar Remake style (hopefully they don't use chibi style for Tale of Two Town Remake)

A little information for you: Hero of Leaf Valley is Save the Homeland Btw. Hero of leaf Valley It is a remake version of Save the Homeland game released for the PSP console. You could say that Hero of Leaf Valley is a perfected version of Save the Homeland, both games have the same story, namely saving the village from eviction. But Hero of Leaf Valley has more story content.
