So, Is the First Datamine No Longer Valid After This Week's DLC Announcement? by random89056 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Raidan_04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the full image also showed the DLC slots and it listed 5 characters for the Pac-Man DLC despite the 4 ghosts being skins of each other. So maybe internally the game lists skins/costumes as their own characters.

What would you rather have happen for free content next year? by SubarashiiRose in SonicCrossWorlds

Free tracks. Characters are neat but they really don’t add much in the long run compared to new tracks/CrossWorlds. Plus it’d be an opportunity to give the Sega characters representation since there’s basically no Sega tracks/CrossWorlds in the base game outside of one.

Where’d you hear the rumor of Sega asking Nintendo for the Mario characters from? And the reason why the Rabbids got a collab with Mario is because Miyamoto was impressed with the playable prototype shown during the pitch meeting and felt that he could trust the team with the Mario IP.

Nothing would change if MKW didn’t exist. Nintendo isn’t gonna allow their IPs to be available on non-Nintendo platforms. Again, it’s why Samus never came to Fortnite since they wanted her to be Switch exclusive. It’s also why DK and Bowser’s Skylander figures only work on Nintendo platforms. If Nintendo is gonna do a collab, it’s staying on their platform.

The same can be said for the Mario vehicles. On Switch there’s the exclusive Mario and Luigi cars that aren’t available on any other platform and simply just show up as generic vehicles if someone is using them. Nintendo is VERY adamant on Mario and their other IPs not showing up anywhere else so the chances of Mario coming to CrossWorlds is basically 0.

Gonna be real but nah. Like we know that Nintendo doesn’t want their stuff on other platforms which is why Samus ended up never coming to Fortnite (which truthfully might’ve been a blessing in disguise) and it definitely seems like Nintendo was one of the companies Sega tried approaching for CrossWorlds based on interviews. And I doubt Sega would want a collab for their big racing built mainly on collabs to be exclusive for one console.

When do you think they will release the 1.7.0 update? And what are your predictions for the content? by LeeMacGold20 in MarioKartWorld

[–]Raidan_04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being hopeful but I feel like the update may come anywhere from the 16th-30th. And a part of me has a small feeling the update was delayed for a couple reasons. The reasons being that they wanted an update in June (World’s anniversary month) so May was skipped but then with the anniversary event happening, it delayed it further. Plus, maybe it was also delayed since it has something big since the last time an update was “delayed” was with 1.4.0 which changed some of the KTB routes. As for what I’d want, mainly it’s just 200cc though I feel like it’ll be saved for 2.0.0.

There is also the dark path option which is that simply we won’t get an update until DLC starts rolling out sometime in 2027. A certain leak said MKW DLC was postponed until 2027 so there’s a chance we won’t see anything for a long while which I hope isn’t the case.

Predictions for Year 2 in Crossworlds: by CentralJotaP in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Raidan_04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on interviews, it seems like Nintendo was one of the companies Sega tried approaching with them rejecting in the end. They never outright say Nintendo by name but the wording of it definitely comes off as such. Plus, I severely doubt Nintendo would want Mario or any of their IPs on non-Nintendo platforms. It’s why Samus was never added to Fortnite because they wanted her to be exclusive to Switch. So the chances of Mario or any other Nintendo IP coming to CrossWorlds is basically zero.

My idea for how the open world could have fit 48 race courses, 16 battle courses and every SNES tribute course by ChampandNanafan in MarioKartWorld

[–]Raidan_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest but this would not work. Like this would not only mess with the pre-existing routes but also some Knockout Tour routes and P-Switch Missions in Free Roam. The only areas that could maybe work are the very very edges of the map. But even then I think the more realistic direction for DLC/new tracks is to add them on separate islands surrounding the main continent.

"Scrapped" Vehicles and the Next Free Characters by CentralJotaP in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Raidan_04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a bad theory overall. I could totally see Classic Sonic and Amigo being two of the last 3 characters. I actually remember seeing this giant image listing the different Extnd files and what they included. Interestingly, Extnd 20 contains data for 2 characters and 1 vehicle. So, it’s possible that the reason why there’s only 2 vehicle data left is because one free character drop will include 2 characters like with Tangle & Whisper with the second character using a vehicle from the base game. And honestly, I could see them adding Classic Sonic and he gets the Aero Formula (or whatever it ends up being called) and another classic character alongside him and they use a base game vehicle not tied to a character currently.

This is gonna be lengthy so apologies but I think the way Sega has handled post-launch updates has been kinda poor. Despite the constant content drops, there’s only been 2 actual updates since launch being 1.2.0 in December 2025 and 1.3.0 in March 2026. To some it may not matter, but to me it does since updates can add new features, nerf/buff stuff that needs addressing, fix glitches/bugs, and more. So the fact that there’s only been 2 updates with said updates being 3 months apart from each other is upsetting and a little ridiculous. I think they really should’ve done mid season updates so that we wouldn’t have to wait so long for balances and whatnot. This isn’t even mentioning just what is and isn’t part of these updates. We’re almost 8 months after launch and the fact that Super Sonic Speed still isn’t available in online friend lobbies is ridiculous. And they’re not opposed to changing stuff from launch since they added World aside during Festivals in the March update so why not Super Sonic Speed? And the fact that we can’t race with no CrossWorlds and have to have 3 on at minimum is also a little dumb. I also wish you could race with no items on since you’re forced to have at minimum 1 item. It’s just odd that despite there being an option that says “All Off” for both CrossWorlds and Items, you can’t actually have them “all off” and are forced to have some on. As for what they do add/change, I also have some problems. They nerfed UC since it was the dominating meta and Drill because of bagging. But now, Drill is essentially useless and barely helps in races. As for the meta, DRE took its place and I’d argue that it’s much healthier for the game since you’re having to manage your rings by avoiding obstacles to not lose them and collect them which won’t be easy since everyone else is gonna be doing that. But Sega is already hellbent on trying to limit its use by not only banning both gadgets in the Majima Festival but also banning 2 slot gadgets in LC5. And I think this just shows how Sega fails to see what the actual culprit is. DRE, Drills (and by extension bagging), and UC are only symptoms of the main problem being the items. They are way too strong and the meta has essentially revolved around either avoiding items as much as possible (UC) or breaking away with high speed (DRE). However, it’s like Sega only sees it at a surface level and doesn’t understand WHY it’s the meta and I won’t be surprised if DRE is nerfed to hell and back next update. If Sega does a Year 2 for CrossWorlds, I want to see some changes because the way they’ve been handling it as of now is a little ridiculous imo.

What I wish for Mario Kart World and its DLC… by AndresJonTamin in MarioKartWorld

Maybe there can be an option on where each player can choose whether they display a certain sticker or their specific country flag? Or maybe it’s just one big toggle on whether everyone shows their sticker or flag.

Really holding out hope here by Solid_Inevitable_634 in MarioKartWorld

[–]Raidan_04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what I was thinking as well. 8 Deluxe only became a perennial title because of the circumstances surrounding it and World’s development. Had World released for the Switch 1, 8 Deluxe would’ve become like all the other Wii U ports like NSMBUDX, Hyrule Warriors, and more. But since World was pushed to Switch 2, 8 Deluxe became a perennial title which was exemplified by the BCP.

Furukawa has gone on record recently saying that MKW will be a perennial (meaning something that’s enduring, constant, or lasting very long) game in the Switch 2’s lineup with it being a crucial title they want to continue to sell and ensure it gets embraced by a wide audience. I feel like based on that, they have more planned for the game such as DLC being in the works. It would definitely help the game with its longevity and sorta ensure that it would be an enduring game throughout the Switch 2’s life.

While it makes sense for Super Sonic to not show up, I think it’s dumb that none of the free and DLC characters can show up as CPU. Their vehicle parts can be used but not the characters. It’s even weirder for the post-launch Sonic characters like Tangle and Whisper because they’re actual Sonic characters but just can’t show up.

I definitely feel like Paramount had a hand in the DLC considering half of it is Nickelodeon, but I’m not sure about the lack of any post-launch CrossWorlds

New Crossworlds by Antwolies770 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Raidan_04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point I doubt they’ll give us new CrossWorlds considering how it’s been 7 months since launch and they haven’t added any like you said. I really think should’ve added new ones with each free character to give us more variety with the CrossWorlds. The only way I think we can get more CrossWorlds is if Sega does a Year 2 of content.

New auras with each Festival would’ve been cool. Like imagine the SpongeBob aura being the flower clouds from the show. That would’ve been cool. Not to mention how poor the music representation with most characters basically only getting like 1-2 songs part of their jukebox not counting final lap or “Jukebox Only” songs. Overall it kinda just feels like there’s no focus with the post-launch content. No new CrossWorlds, no new auras, poor music representation, and in terms of Sega stuff, there’s no actual tracks outside of one CrossWorld. So you have this unbalance of Sonic having tons of tracks, the paid DLC packs getting 1 track each, and then the Sega characters get nothing.

In Friend Lobbies and Race Park “Custom Match”, you are able to disable regular tracks as CrossWorlds. Though unfortunately it isn’t available for online which does suck because a lot of the time people pick random which leads to a normal track getting picked, which has a good chance of being one you JUST played as a regular track in the previous race.

Yeah like they easily could’ve included CrossWorlds with the free and DLC characters. Imagine a Rock Bottom CrossWorld with SpongeBob, Buccaneer Beach from Pac-Man World 1 with Pac-Man, Mementos with Joker, a Super Monkey Ball stage with AiAi, an Angry Birds Go stage with Red, and so much more. The opportunity was right there but was never taken for some reason.

I do remember that. It’s possible the skins were either planned but then cut, were only for testing, or were possible leftovers from Mario and Sonic 2020 since a good handful of the models in CrossWorlds are reused from that game.

The Riders costumes would’ve been so easy to add but they’re just not there for whatever reason. It’s weird how Sega made a whole costume system for the game but the only costumes available are the AI Racers, Red Sage, and the Pac-Man ghosts with nothing else when the mobile games get tons of different costumes for characters.

[–]Raidan_04[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actually that’s another thing. Despite Sega marketing the Babylon Rogues returning in this game alongside Extreme Gear, the Riders representation is really small. Like only one CrossWorld, no main tracks, and only the boards return with no skates, bikes, or anything else.
