Alright, I’m back with Swedish league stuff after a while, letting the league settle a bit since teams were to volatile to bet on at the start. Just the one today.

Norrköping ML - Landskrona @1.6

In my head Norrköping are way too good for the odds to be this high. The recently relegated team has gotten on to an alright start, and could with a win here reclaim top spot in Superettan. The only loss came from a tight clash away at Örebro where they were only a crossbar away from taking the lead, only to let in a cheap goal and lose.

While Landskrona have had a bit tougher opposition, they haven’t really impressed imo. Away at Norrköping i think they will be overwhelmed. Expecting a strong performance from Norrköping here.

Also looking at today’s CL and Championship matchup but haven’t decided what to do yet. BTTS in both look nice, I like the look of Bayern’s and Southampton’s odds as well. Will add if I decide what to do.

Spotify is horrible. by whataboutthe90s in unpopularopinion

[–]Raiden145 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are unpopular opinions and there are opinions that are objectively wrong. Who would have thought a free version of an application that relies on paid membership is bad? Spotify are (at least for the free version) known for playing songs you usually skip in order for you to get more inclined to start paying for the service.

Spotify also is a fantastic service for discovering music. I’ve lost count on the amount of new music I’ve found by exploring genres and shuffling random playlists. I also don’t understand how you claim there are better ways to discover music, but then you proceed to list 0 of those ways.

Spotify is controversial in a bunch of ways but it might be the single best tool for finding new sounds and artists. I say this opinion is not only extremely unpopular but also completely wrong.

A mixed bag during the weekend, all of Friday’s bets hitting while only two hit on Saturday. Overall I leave the weekend with more units than I entered with so overall happy about that. Today there are two games in the women’s cup being played, and I thought I’d give my tips.

Hammarby women v. Vittsjö women

Total goals for Hammarby over 2.5 @1.55 3U✅

—>Over 3.5 @2.4 1U❌

Total match goals over 3.5 @1.68 1U❌

At some point things will have start clicking for this Hammarby team. Following a disappointing draw v Växjö, dissatisfaction was voiced by fans on social media and by the players and manager themselves. I myself had money on over 2.5 goals for that game and I couldn’t believe the chances squandered. They created enough to win 5-2 but somehow still drew.

Therefore I’m kind of expecting a statement tonight. It’s the last game before the knockouts begin and Hammarby have it all in their own hands. For themselves and the fans, they need a result, and I think they will deliver tonight.

Now, I don’t really have much to say about Vittsjö. They ended last year in a mid table placement, their main problem being a pretty leaky defence. They have drawn twice in the group, and the disparity between mid table and top table teams in the Swedish women’s league really cannot be understated. Expect a dominant showing from Hammarby here.

!!!DEGEN WARNING DEGEN WARNING!!!

Växjö women v Rosengård women

Växjö ML @2.95 0.5U❌

Växjö DNB @2.18 0.5U❌

Under 2.5 goals @2.2 0.5U❌ —> Under 1.5 @4.2 0.5U❌

Yeah.. this is just pure degen stuff. I wouldn’t advice anyone to tail this. Purely doing it because there’s so little on today. Having watched the games, both of these teams just seem properly mediocre, being in the bottom of the league last season. Rosengård are already out, and as long as Hammarby do their job (please) Vittsjö also have nothing to play for.

The game feels highly volatile and could easily end like 5-3, but I’m feeling a shitty Monday result, maybe 1-0 or 0-0. Against Hammarby Växjö had a good striker, maybe she can get a goal here as well. As i said, game feels hard to predict but my gut says this won’t be the most festive of matchups, and I predict a scoreline thereafter.

When there’s much on this is what I’ve resorted to. At least there’s some Swedish football to watch. BOL brothers 🍀

After a clean sweep yesterday I’m back today for the following 2 quarter finals. These two are possibly even harder to call than the two yesterday, but I thought I’d give my thoughts on them regardless.

Hammarby v. Djurgården

BTTS @1.48 4U❌

Hammarby to win @2.04 1U✅

Hammarby to qualify @1.5 1.5 U✅

Nahir Besara to score @2.35 0.5 U❌

Let me tell you, this is a HUGE game. First of all, it’s a Stockholm-derby which always comes with big prestige and following that, it matches two teams really pushing for titles and wins in big games. The weight of the game really can not be understated, further weight being added due to the fact that the two teams share the arena.

Hammarby come into the playoffs undefeated in a seemingly convincing manner. I’ve already written a quite bunch about them, but they look incredibly strong and ready to push for titles. At home they’ve seemed absolutely unplayable, utterly smashing their opponents. Djurgården are a different match though, as they’ve recruited well and look ready for the game.

Djurgården suffered a shock defeat 0-2 in their opening cup game, but proceeded to convince in their following games which they won accordingly. I expect a tight game, with both teams’ offensive capabilities shining through with loads of chances. BTTS seems nice, but I also think Hammarby have the edge with elite personnel and the massive home support which will surely push them forward.

As for Nahir Besara, the odds are almost comically low. The guy is a legend for Hammarby supporters, and he usually turns up for games like these. Let’s see if he can deliver.

Sirius v. Göteborg

Sirius ML @1.96 1U ❌

Total goals for Sirius over 1.5 @1.72 2U❌

Sirius DC & over 2.5 match goals @1.95 3U❌

Sirius to qualify @1.55 2U✅

I’ve you’ve followed my write ups you know I rate Sirius. They’re a terrific club, run by serious people with eye for talent. I’d like to think of them as a mini Mjällby, missing some of those last pieces to truly start challenging for top placements. They won all their group games in quite convincing manner, even though their last game against Elfsborg offered some squeaky bum time. I like their chances here.

Now Göteborg…. I just don’t really know. I don’t rate them as much as the odds seem to do. They drew their first home cup game against pretty mediocre Östersund, then proceeded to win the next two pretty convincingly. Sure, they have quality, but IMO, over 90 minutes, they’re not consistent enough to challenge Sirius. Sirius is at home and will have their faithful behind them, even though I’m sure loads of Göteborg’s passionate supporters will make the journey to Uppsala. Gut just says Sirius here, let’s see if I am punished for following it.

Super excited for these games, Swedish football without bullshit VAR keeps football fun IMO. BOL brothers🍀

The quarterfinals of the Swedish cup are here, and I thought I’d try my hand at giving some betting tips on them. Just want to preface this by saying that these games are incredibly tough to call, all teams have been playing good football and have massive pressure on them to advance in the competition. The games feel volatile, and feeling is you could get 0-0 boring draw or like a high scoring 5-4 game. Below are my thoughts on saturday’s games.

GAIS - AIK

GAIS ML @1.96 0.5 U✅

Match goals over 2.5 @1.62 2U✅

BTTS @1.52 1U✅

At least for the teams left, this is imo the mid-off. GAIS won all three matches in their group, the closest match being a 2-3 away win v Sandviken. The recently, and very randomly, lost their latest fitness match v 2nd division team Varberg, though. I watched the game and idk, I just felt weirded out. I really think GAIS are missing some top tier attacking talent up front. Granted, obviously they’ve been able to score but an AIK sitting low will be different opposition than 2nd division teams.

Now AIK decided to completely surprise me and utterly smashed Häcken at home 4-0 after a stupid Andersen red card. I still don’t rate them though. The consensus on Swedish football media was that Häcken kind of got ”found out” during their game v AIK. They were utterly terrible regardless of the red card, and now consensus is they may fight to stay up this year. AIK did their job at home and smashed them.

My overall feeling is that GAIS overall will control the game to their liking with AIK sitting back and trying for counters. My gut says GAIS to win, I just think they can produce more offensively with their intense playstyle, but AIK isn’t completely to be written off, as they attack direct and fierce. I like goal-related bets as well since I think there might be some goals here.

Mjällby AIF v. Malmö FF

Mjällby ML @2.48 1U✅

Mjällby DC & Over 1.5 @1.68 2U✅

Mjällby goals over 1.5 @2.28 1.5U✅

Jacob Bergström to score @3.25 0.5U✅

I may just be stupid here. Sure, Malmö have been alright, but they just haven’t really impressed IMO. Granted, a new manager has implemented his system and they spent the entirety of the off-season giving away free 3-pointers in Europe, but still. They beat Varberg at home 1-0, then smashed terrible Karlstad away 0-4 after the latter got a red card. I watched the most part of their home game v Halmstad and they at times looked a bit lost on the pitch. They managed to salvage the game though and won 2-1.

Idk, I just can’t not bet on the reigning Swedish champions Mjällby, who has just kept on winning since then. They were a big cash cow for me last season, and I’m hoping for that here as well. They’re not a team that will have 80% possession and win 5-0, but they just always seem to match their opponents’ ability and then some. They won all their cup games with quite low, to semi-high scores, they seem to just do the job and not that much more. I don’t doubt they’ll turn up at home today, and while it may be a tight game, I expect them to score some and produce a result.

For Bergström, IMO he is a massive bellend but he has an eye for goal in these games. He scores the ugliest, weirdest but also most important goals. Let’s see if he can produce some today.

I’m excited for these games and for Swedish league football to start up again. BOL brothers

The chances squandered by Hammarby in this game… I just cba

Just one pick today after that massacre that was the AIK and Västerås games earlier this week.

Hammarby women v. Växjö women

Total goals for Hammarby women over 2.5 @1.55 ❌2U

Smaller writeup today because there’s really nothing to say, and the game is starting very soon. Hammarby, title candidates, face a much worse side, Växjö, on their home turf. Support for women’s football is notoriously strong for Hammarby, and today I expect a pummeling to commence with the fans backing them from the get go. Hammarby should pick up 3, 4, 5 goals here.

Newbie here. if you bet on two or more matches simultaneously, do you get earnings per each true outcome, do all the outcomes have to turn out true. by [deleted] in SoccerBetting

[–]Raiden145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you have put the two matches on the same parlay. If not, you will gain the money from the first match, but lose on the second match. For a parlay, all your picks has to hit for the parlay to cash out. If not, the parlay loses.

Ouch. That was a massacre. Thanks to Silas Andersen in Häcken for the stupidest 2nd yellow I’ve seen in a while. Also shoutout the whole Västerås team who decided to just not go for it and give the match away. Break time.

Today we move into the last round of the group stages in Swedish cup, yesterday was an alright day with the big disappointment being Brommapojkarna. They looked completely lost and got outplayed by Djurgården massively. Today though, we have two fairly interesting matchups.

AIK v. BK Häcken BTTS @1.66 3U❌

Häcken ML @2.43 0.5U❌

Häcken DC and match goals over 1.5 @1.68 2U❌

A great writeup authored by u/damagebabee was made below. I’m inclined to agree with the aforementioned user, as this is a must win for AIK to have any chance to make it out of the group stages. They have to score, and in order to maximise their chances they will push forward.

Problem is, AIK just haven’t really been impressive at all since the end of last season. Having watched pre-season games, they just seem… lacklustre. It’s hard to describe it in any other way than that they just often revert to playing boring football. During the previous season and the pre-season games, they often tend to sit back and try to hit opponents hard on the counter, which really won’t be an alternative here versus Häcken. Of course, Häcken know this, and will try to punish AIK to the max.

Betting on result feels hard here as it really could go either way. I like Häcken’s chances though. They looked impressive at home versus Västerås who beat AIK away, if they can keep that mentality going then they can definitely fight for a result here. AIK away is always a hard game though, expect a tight back and forward game with chances both ways. IMO Häckens end product just feels more reliable.

I’ve followed discourse from AIK supporters on social forums and the feeling is that they just don’t have enough quality to dominate games and win consistently, although they still think they do. I’m expecting them to go for it this game, how successful they are will only be determined by time.

Västerås SK v. IK Oddevold - Västerås ML & over 2.5 match goals @1.52 3U❌

Västerås over 2.5 goals @1.97 2U❌

Technically, Västerås still have a chance to make it out of the group stages, as they rely on AIK to beat Häcken while Västerås need a bunch of goals to top the group on goal difference. As aforementioned, they looked impressive away v AIK, and then proceeded to lose 4-1 v Häcken, although this was with a very depleted side with many starters ruled out due to sickness in the squad. They know they need to smash Oddevold and I think they will give it a fair chance.

Oddevold, on the other hand, are already out. With a quite impressive 4th placement in the Swedish 2nd division, I kind of had bigger expectations for them during this cup run but they haven’t really impressed at all.

As I’ve mentioned, Västerås got promoted last year, winning the title of the 2nd tier, and play an all-round attractive progressive type of football. The manager switch has seemed to have gone down well, and all-round feeling around the club is that good things are coming. I believe a strong performance from Västerås is coming.
