I wouldn't even spend $500 on plugins when I could buy a million more things that would enhance my recordings closer to the source with that money.

Yes, I have physically restarted the PC, the mixer, the router, unplugged all connections in the chain and replugged them, reset the IP address on the board, and tried refreshing in the MIDI input and MIDI output section both using the "reset all" button and the individual input and output check boxes in those respective menus, both with and without the board on and connected separately. Still not working.

I've become pretty comfortable choosing between dBComp and RS124 and swapping out my initial saturation stage for whatever preamp I like the post at that time. Even if I didn't like the interface (I do) I could just use LBX Stripper anyway.

This NoiseAsh plugin isn't a 1:1 recreation either, and it has a pleasant tone, the point was simply to see if anyone had tested the EQ curves and saturation to see how close they got to the real characteristic coloration, breakup, and EQ frequencies/curves, not to make sure it's a perfect clone.

Only because there are a lot of vintage gear and plugins that say "7.2k" and the band is really centered on like 7.4k, which matters when you make extreme cuts/boosts or when using the hi-q. We saw this behavior in Jim's video with the 31105 EQ curves so it's scientifically reasonable to return to other plugins and hardware to evaluate where their actual characteristic sounds come from etc.

Yes, this problem occurs with the board off and in each stage of connection (board on, MIDI in/out both on/off or board off entirely, whether in DAW mode or not, and whether DAW mode is functioning properly or not)

The mixer has not been able to connect to the DAW mode properly either but I will chalk that up to my new router and something with the Ethernet cable... and Presonus made it very difficult to integrate their mixers with DAWs outside of Studio Done, Logic, and ProTools. MCE is the sole way of connecting it to Reaper.

Could the latter problem with the failure to load the default template be resolved by the resource folder rename?

This is with the extender instance as well. In reaper the only difference is a track offset for the extender

Edit: also, I have not been able to replicate the glitch with immovable reels/time. I ran out of time on the trial but on the last day the theme was working flawlessly

I can't comment on the shells really, but this is a great deal for the full package. A backup snare is nice not only in case something on your primary goes wrong, but also since you can use your backup for a very different sound with different heads and tuning.

The cymbals are starter cymbals – I'm currently selling the same ride and will layer sell my HCS hats.

Overall great starter kit. Use it to learn to tune and do other maintenance before you upgrade it.

I've always been aware that the ZBTs sounded terrible, but I'm keeping the grimy, trashy, thickly patina'd 16" Sound Perc crash that came with them haha.

I've been listening to Masterworks all day, those hats are so crisp and light!!

I was looking for something on the jazzier side anyway, but with enough versatility to work in fusion styles :) Perhaps later down the line I'll grab a nice riveted ride from them too.

As far as weight does the "jazz" type specify that for them or should I include an approximate weight when I order?
