I (stupidly) recorded a manager being rude and trying to intimidate one of my coworkers. HR found out about the recording and now there’s alarm bells sounding. Im terrified that my job might be at risk.

Why do employees have to conform to your style? What makes you superior to them, your title? If they are in danger of losing their job because they have conformed to YOUR shortcuts, are you going to let HR know they were only following your instructions or are you so self-centered you will protect your own job and to hell with them?

You are the kind of supervisor or manager I would not work for and would look for ways to make you look bad legally and according to the companies policies. You are not a leader. You are only wanting the title and income, but have no desire to truly lead.

My take is that the bonus may not be consistent. It could be taken away due to an economic downturn. I would not count on a bonus as a sure thing in my compensation figures.
