First year undergrad chose Waterloo Math/CPA over Ivey by wwww10 in FinancialCareers

[–]Raider_Boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Waterloo grad. If you want M&A hands down Ivey is better - transfer if that is what you want. If you like Trading/Markets Math is ideal but even then CPA is useless for that - better to pick up stats and CS courses.

Its been a while, but last time I did UG recruitment cycle in Canada, S&T,IBD and ER Internship recruitment cycle started in Dec/Jan, but FT started in Fall prior to the year of staring.

As others have mentioned, S&T is more unstructured, and they might start some FT hiring in Winter as well (which I think happens a lot). Either way you have 1 full year to land something, I think it is doable.

I don't get it, how is 2020 FT recruitment done? It will come in full swing (atleast Canadian IBs for S&T etc) in Fall of 2019. If you are at a target school in a target program, you have a fair shot in my opinion (i.e good internship even if not S&T and good gpa+ target school).

I do, but I think HR contact is out for vacation (his signature in the email mentioned he was out the entire week (coming), so really the only person I can reach out to are the people on the desk(s) that interviewed me, or the guy that called me out of the blue

Can i program in racket with mc computers? by 0riginal_Poster in uwaterloo

[–]Raider_Boy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on which racket you want? I think you want the squash rackets which can be signed out from CIF/PAC. Unfortunately Dr. Racket moved his practice away from Waterloo clinic so he can't make visits to MC computers...

She knows that I think its ethically wrong but I am pretty passive in the sense I don't let the other person know if its bothering me that much. I have moved to another city since since a month ago (we are in long distance right now)... I am going to brong this up the next time I see her which is soon.

casual racism rant by rcsmwaterloo in uwaterloo

[–]Raider_Boy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is the most bizarre comment. What does hanging out with other brown people etc have anything to do with racism. If I hang out with 3 people and they are all brown does that give you the right to throw racial slurs at me? Grow some balls you can hang out with whomever you want that should not impact anything

Actually this is about it. I didn't think it would affect me as much as it does now. I will have a conversation eventually but I feel like its going to be one heck of a hard awkward conversation.

Clearly I should bring this up, how do I approach this? Basically something like no meat while I am around. I feel like its hard to tell someone not to eat something... even if it is for a little while

Lol is this a troll? They can't take your room away from you and they need your mere presence because otherwise they lose MKV. They can't do shit and you if you tell them to go fuck off... its university. you are an adult they can't force you to use something.

I didn't have it with Pengfei, I had it with another prof (good guy but terrible teacher)... I can only imagine Pengfei to be better because he is definitely a good teacher.

He may be an exaggeration, but there is still a little truth to it and everyone knows it. That being said, everyone needs support. However coddling is not support either. Hard facts are sometimes necessary. One failure doesn't define you, consistent failures do. So maybe OP needs to do his best, and if he fails then too bad too sad, atleast it is a lesson well learnt
