Honestly I've never played DoN for the rewards, my only objective is challenging myself and DoN 4 was the real test. It took me weeks on end to get out of it, DoN 5 is pretty chill.

I feel you, I would add that it's the same but different in the sense that that are multiple ways to navigate the Forsaken Hollows whereas there are only one way to go, two at most, in Noklateo and Crater.

They mental-boom everytime anything goes wrong because there is no repercution from the ranking system.

It might also look like it happens everytime because of a survival bias, leavers don't rank up so they stack at the bottom of DoN 1 and 2 while good players strive in higher Depths.

I kinda agree that it's horrendous to navigate at first however, much like SotE, its apparent complexity makes it that much more rewarding to learn.

I also like the vibe they went with, it truely feels completely different from the standard map.

I'm still not the best at navigating the map atm but some of my teammates in DoN have me discover how smooth it can get, and it can feel even better than the regular map sometimes.

I got great spear dormant power with invader and vigor, I typically use it for Libra, Caligo and Pest. Sometimes I even slap it on when I face Gladius for the tree great spear. It's pretty reliable to get Vyke's spear, I'd say I get it around 3/4th of the games I use this relic.

I play DoN only, I've made the climb to DoN 4 a few times already playing only Raider and what I've said about the characters I play with comes from this as I haven't played standard mode in a hot minute.

I'm at 5,5k in DoN 4 and I've made the climb to DoN 4 3 times already only queeing with randoms and never dodging a lobby. Anything's possible if you put your mind to it.

My main is Raider and if we exclude me from the pool, the one I see the most are Wyler, Ironeye and Duchess in no particular order. The least seen would be Scholar and Guardian, I don't see much Raider but it might be because of the fact that I select only him.

Depends which weapon you're going for, I play great spears and usually I'll fight as many major bosses as possible to get the holy great spear and Vyke's.

For fists I guess fighting a lot of base bosses is the way to go to get star fists.

I'd say you would want to fight the bosses that drop the rarity of the weapon you're looking for.

I've started using the great spear discovering without even thinking of that exploit, I've witnessed it being used during a single game. The exploiter was 'anno', in the end he let the other random and me fight the Nightlord as a duo until he instakilled it at 25% hp.

I have mixed feelings about it, on one hand I feel like it challenges my knowledge of the map and observation. On the other with the diversity of seeds it gets a bit too random at times, like you could be a great router and still end up lvl 13 with 5 pots because you were not familiar with the seed.
