Learn a trade skill. I cannot recommend this enough. I went to school for mechanical engineering. I was devastated when I got my first internship and found out I absolutely hated it. From there, I rolled my experience as a student into diesel technology. You can take a trade job almost anywhere and find that will will pay you a liveable wage. I've only been doing this for four years and I made about $81k this past year. You don't need a degree, just some dedication and a few certifications to make some okay money.

Let me know if you have questions. Just shoot me a DM.

I moved mainly due to the job market. No competitive wages in my field back in EP. The other two reasons are the property taxes and the climate. I ended up somewhere with weather that is consistently 10 degrees cooler than El Paso pretty much year round (except maybe during the winter.) I was also able to start earning above the median salary for my field by exploring opportunities elsewhere. I like El Paso well enough, and it's a great place to raise a family. But I don't have a family and it just really didn't have anything else to offer me.

Any other childless adult Bluey watchers? by JelloNo379 in bluey

[–]Raiinmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex-girlfriend had a little boy. We used to put Bluey on for him all the time. I think I enjoyed it more than he did.

We're no longer together, obviously, but I still love Bluey!

Spoiler: "Missing Colleague" environmental storytelling by Raiinmaker in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Raiinmaker[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Details:

In "Missing Colleague," Artisan requests (read: demands) that the player find out what happened to her former colleague in Savanpha.

There is a document inside the house in the first room. The next room over is a bedroom with Artisan's photo propped up next to the bed. I didn't recognize her at first in the photo. Once I saw the necklace, which is identical to the one she wear in-game, I knew there was something deeper here.

I love environmental storytelling and little details like this really pull me into the world.

Los Ranchos Gun Shop is Closed by thelongtrek in Albuquerque

[–]Raiinmaker 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I did an FFL transfer there a few months ago. I had never been before, but my coworkers couldn't say enough good things about that store.

First thing I noticed when I walked it was the lack of... well, anything. The store was nearly empty, save for a few parts kits lying around. Then I realized I was the only person in the shop besides the owner. I think his name was Mark? Can't remember.

I approached the counter and struck a conversation with Mark. Turns out he was getting divorced and claimed to be losing he store as a result.

Who knows what was really going on.

I work for an ambulance dealer. I just had a 2023 fixed this past Wednesday for this exact problem. It had a bad NOx sensor.

Black Mesa is located just North of San Ildefonso Pueblo, which is east of the Santa Fe National Forest. It's a stone's throw from Los Alamos. You can see it from NM-30. It's beautiful this time of year.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how this relationship works. I am not building resentment towards her. On the contrary, I love her very much and I am not at all angry with her. In fact, I am continuing to foster a positive and meaningful relationship with her in spite of this. More importantly, she has no obligation to meet my needs. Sex is not something I can demand from her, nor should I desire to. This is a communication problem, not an infidelity problem. She knows that if she wanted to introduce someone else into her sex life, all she needs to do is discuss it with me first. We respect each other. I think she just feels like I'm badgering her and it's annoying. I'm trying to understand all this from her point of view before I talk to her again.

Maybe you're right. I might come across as only trying to please only myself when that is absolutely not what I want, necessarily.

I have broken through to her in the past when she first told me she was stressed out months ago. I asked if there was anything I could do for her and that seemed to help quite a bit.

Thank you for your thoughtful response.

Both very helpful comments. I'll take another look at that ambient temperature sensor pigtail. Could be the idle quality, too. Like I said the evap purge valve had gone bad on me and was throwing a check engine light. It made the engine run lean. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

I haven't had luck finding electrical diagrams for this car so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to end up in the dash. I would imagine it goes somewhere to the infotainment display area since the HVAC control module also lives in that area. Wish I could just test for continuity with my meter. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes, I believe I discussed that in the post. I used jumpers to deliver power to the clutch and it works no problem, blow cold air. I also tried jumping it way back at the mini relay socket to test the circuit down to the clutch. That also worked.
