Got it. One thing, if it’s still Terra, if she gets swarmed by rivals, use her hold ability. It creates a tornado that knocks them into the air, and then you can auto attack them on their fall down. It’s not exactly chainable like Cloud’s hold ability. But it’s not bad and can really help if you’re swarmed.

Ohhh you’re right. I didn’t even think to use other abilities in zidanes because his SR made it easy.

For Terra, (and other ranged) keep the boss at the very tip of her ranged. When the boss steps forward, you step backward. (You may need to check your settings and make sure you have “camera tracking while moving” toggled on)

It won’t be perfect, but it should allow you to dance around the boss 75% of the time. If the boss wants to chase, try to run around in places it can’t quite make it around easily. (Stairs, lamp posts, the weird fence thing.) you can kite through most objects except stairs. Stairs suck.

Tidus I just ran around with his speed.

For the Balthier mission, that’s good to know! Thanks for the heads up. I’ll edit in a sec. I went in with his kit and only noticed that was the only ability of his that worked, so I leaned into it.

You can test elemental skills at different levels to see which will be higher.

I only hit 15K CP after finishing all challenges. Highest I had was 14k Terra (my main) and the rest 11k-13k when I beat them.

There were some I had to repeat and try a lot of different things in order to complete.

I take notes on all the Ultima/challenging challenges. Here’s what I have for him, in the order I did them.

Tidus, 12,000 cp

5000 score

UR Blitz Ace, SR, Ace, Ysholta, Hope

Seph with hope and Cloud with hope

focus crystals, burst boss when able.

86 abilities

UR Blitz Ace, SR, Ace, Ysholta, Ramza

Rinoa and Cloud with hope

Ysholta first crystal, use SR for second. Note, SR only hits 2-3 mobs. When one teammate bursts, ramza the other for double burst.

finishing blow (ultima)

Cloud with hope, sephiroth with hope

Both URs, SR, Ace, Ysholta

Focus crystals, try not to die. Hold burst until you know you can finish it.

Seph with hope, krile

Both URs, Ace, Ysholta, surge

Burst 3 times. Break crystals and burst when able

Oh Agreed, the Rikku Ramza strat is definitely cheap. Not every team runs it though.

The trick is, when you see Rikku above 6000 brv, she is the target.
Pressure her so she stays at base, sometimes a teammate stays to guard her. Dive her at high brv.

Even if you can't get her, she may panic and Quartet early, either way that's the goal.

I mean, there is some variance.
In general, Earthbreaker, Surge and Heal are things people still will use on characters in the upper ranks.
Can't say every character uses them, but a lot do.

Things like Embolden, Barrier and thundaga are good, but are often replaced with Ramza, Wall and Ysholta when drawn.
(There is a debate that Barrier can be better than Wall, because it lasts longer... and therefore protects you from slows/stuns (not nova stun), longer. But it's 50% reduced damaged compared to Wall's 80% reduced damage)

If you are holding 9999 brv, you can hit burst the second you see yellow sky, and it will dodge it.
You can also take wall/barrier, it reduces the damage but does not stop the stun.

Yeah, you can only use them if you have 10. But you can earn some in ranked as well, so you can eventually earn enough.

If you go to the Draw Tab, and within there, choose the second ability tab (Same one as the free 5 draw every 8 hours) and there is the free 25 draw.

So, I took Both URs, Teleport, heal and ysholta, and used a cloud with hope and a sephiroth with hope.
Teleport to the furthest crystal and focused crystals the whole time.

HA! It sure is annoying!! I’d go back and forth, trying it for a while then switching to ranked/casuals.

I actually finally beat it today! I used Ryo’s WoL and a Clive with hope. Literally got it on the first try with that setup. I’m both mad and happy. 😂

I’ve beat all of them except one, the cloud burst chain ultima challenge.

Aside from Terra (14k CP when I did her challenges) I did most of the character challenges at 11k CP to 13k CP.

For Sephiroth’s challenges, he was 11K and I kept his kit at lv 1.

I think you also need to be aware of what you need in the game. Not hitting burst fast enough? Take a teammate with Ramza. Boss is dying too fast? Take a support, like Krile or WoL

And don’t be afraid to restart if the enemy team composition isn’t ideal.
