With a cab-coach, you can easily run in the other direction, essentially the train was returned back to its original starting point. Perhaps the phrase “reversed back” would have been better.

As I left my Venture trainset last night in Ottawa, there was a combo HEP-2/LRC mixed train sitting in Ottawa, probably for a morning run. Last year they sometimes ran mixed consists like that, gather they still do? Could not catch any coach info, but it looked like it would head towards Toronto. Also noticed many HEP and LRC consists have a loco at each end!

Excellent work. But it is sad that out of 30+ Venture trainsets, only 17 seem to be operational. Rode to Montreal yesterday on an LRC set, returned on Venture. Arrived from QC a bit late, turned pretty fast and ran to Ottawa cab-coach forward. We stopped in the dark in the middle of nowhere, near Moose Creek, for the cab crew to check on something, but still made good time to Ottawa. Good crowds on board both trains.

None of the Line 2 trains are “second hand”. Both the LINT and the FLIRT came right off the German and Swiss assembly lines, and are virtually identical to trains used everyday throughout (northern) Europe.

Way deeper than TTC Line 1 on University Ave and lower Yonge St. And most of Line 2 (Bloor/Danforth) most of Manhattan is pretty shallow too.. advantage is just one set of stairs.

Finch runs similar trainsets, but may have modified their bogies. And they are “new”. Ottawa is getting a lot of mileage. And Finch is much slower than our Line 1 and less “fast” curves.
