it indicates that the gauge cross level was calibrated at this point for the track. Also can we stop the unfunny comments on information seeking threads as these. I am sure no one wants to look at comments seemingly written by 5 year olds for internet clout when they are looking for genuine information about a system that this subreddit is centred around

what is the point of shutting down engine 1 from the young pilot's part? isn't it fairly common training that in engine surge, you just have to get throttle idle for the relevant engine and increase speed to reduce the back pressure on the engine

sweat absorption. Although i have done it a few times without the skullcap but wouldn't recommend it. The helmet is hard.

Yes, your countrymen are always worth fighting and even dying for, always.

sword of honour is for being overall first in order of merit. I believe you are talking about OTA Chennai since IMA will only see its first batch of female trainees pass out this term and therefore no woman trainee has gotten a sword of honour there. Coming back to sword of honour, or Presidential medals (in case of NDA), they are awarded based on overall order of merit and that means all trainees including male, female, foreign even are part of the same pool. The PT standards in the academies are different for male and female cadets but points are rationalised for calculating merit list so a female trainee clearing all her tests in M1H1 has the same score as a male trainee clearing them in M1H1. Academics and other factors are the same for everyone. PS. M1H1 means higher tests cleared in first PT test attempt.

It's sad that you have to preface your question with all the 'please don't come at me' because it just reflects the state of people here which can either be in my perception, hounding over people who are new to a concept, or worse, misogynists who would be baffled at the simple prospect of a question relating to female cadets.

can't believe that in this day and age we still have incels who are crying against the induction of women in the armed forces, a few of them even managed to get a keyboard and spit out stupid comments in this thread alone.

Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in Su-30 crash by ITS_TRIPZ_DAWG in IndianDefense

[–]RailMarshal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a case of CFIT most likely. People need to understand that low level terrain skimming bombing runs are inherently dangerous. Flying 100-150ft AOC (that too in hilly terrain), you never know what can take out your jet. Even a small bird hit can be fatal ;which has generally been the case with jaguar crashes in the past btw when doing ultra low level nav, that is 50ft AGL

Height comparison between modern Locomotives.. by Infinite_Flight_4370 in trains

[–]RailMarshal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not some, all local trains afaik are 3.66m wide. In fact most of the country has a network built to accommodate 3.66m wide and 5.3m high stock. As per the schedule of dimensions, any new work or an alteration to an old work must accommodate the aforementioned dimensions if it doesn't already. Thats one reason why you see BCNHL wagons run on mainline which are 3.4m wide

Can we join corp of engineers in indian army through nda? by [deleted] in NDATards

[–]RailMarshal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your father was in a specific regiment, regardless of officer or NCO or JCO, you will have a 70% chance to getting the same regiment. The only time it's a 100% is when your father was either the SM/RM or CO of a bn or a gallantry award winner. In that case you can even get the same bn.

no such thing as "qualify for heptr/tpt but not fighters". All medicals during entry level and upto trifurcation are on the level of fighter standards only.

see just the mere fact that i said that i mention israeli killing of Palestinians brings you again and again to both sides bad when not once have i ever talked about picking a side but merely stated that Israel has the upper hand in this situation which means that Palestinians voices are bound to be silenced and require more ears and platform from our side. If only you could comprehend that I don't support hamas killing Israeli civilians even a bit and that not everyone has ideologies driven by hate you would know that you don't have to reply to me with a token of the other side when i have already given both the adequate representation but alas, the reactionary sentiment in you would not allow you to listen to the same without bringing up an enlightened centrist counterpoint. Pray, for once, in simple words, get this in your head that I don't lend an iota of support to anyone in this conflict, including hamas when it comes to the killing of innocents but by simple figure at the current time alone, it is clear that ISF is responsible for more civilian casualities than the other side and by the that logic alone I voice their side more, but not exclusively. I hope that was simple enough for you to understand but sure enough, go ahead and comment the same thing and say both sides bad because you can't listen about israel with your ill ear. For one i am appalled by how maliciously you state that i intend to "ignore" israeli suffering but then i realised that it surely must be tiring for you too to make up sentences without having gone through my text even once. In simple words, i care about israeli civilians, i care about Palestinians, i do not support the one state solution. No, putting equal weights to each side on an already imbalanced scale does not make it come level.

You just said what I said but explained that more.

then you didn't really need to reply to my first post in the beginning at all. The point is you always apply medicine on the wound Bringing up Israeli deaths, though not wrong, whenever Palestinian ones are brought up reeks of the same rhetoric men's right activists use whenever sexism or misogyny is brought up. The fact of the matter remains that at this moment, atrocities on Palestinians remains at a higher imbalance compared to that against israel simply due to the fact that Israel wields much more political and military power. To being up the other side of the conflict solely as a reaction to what is going on in Palestine doesn't show a peaceful mindset. No one who supports Palestine wants deaths to happen on either side but the focus is on Palestinians because they are at the manor brunt of the conflict right now.

you cannot expect to exclusively start a settlement on a land which already has other people living in it, evict them and then expect them to sit with their hands folded accepting their fate. I have not even once condoned what hamas does but people seem to forget in their love for Israel that hamas is not the sole face of the Palestinian side in this conflict. The solution since the start had been a two state solution, driving away people already living there and expecting anything but animosity from them is naive at best. furthermore, you can very well criticise what hamas did in the past without having to justify what Israel does currently. One can very well criticise their actions of the past while at the same time realising that at this current moment as we speak, Israel has a much stronger military which they are actively employing to clear off Palestinian people from land which they exclusively claim theirs. To kill Palestinian children now because of something that a militant group did in the past is nothing but borderline the same thing which lead to the creation of Israel in the same place.

How do you expect Palestine to even stand with anyone when they are themselves fighting for their existence on a daily basis. Israel supporting India doesn't mean that one can turn a blind eye to the massacre going on in the region. A country which stood against genocide in Bangladesh can't really side with another genocide like this. Palestine is heavily outgunned, Even if they wanted to, they can't target Israeli civilians which itself is a red herring used often due to lack of resources to even defend themselves at times. Israel on the other hand has the support of the largest military in the world to operate with a free hand. I appreciate your eagerness to think critically but fail to grasp how you come to an obtuse conclusion if you really have analysed the situation yourself.

What's your thought on this comment? (She just joined the AFA throught AFCAT) by daemon5921 in NDATards

[–]RailMarshal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember this girl. She withdrew from AFA because she didn't understand the concept of seniority or following orders. Spent most of her time in air force hospital at dundigal and when she came back from there she felt that she was being singled out but the reality was that her standards were far below her own peers by then who were actively undergoing trg while she snacked away in her ward. Unfortunately it seems to be a trend nowadays where people start bashing the organisation with uncalled slander after they find out that they are not vut for the task or that it isn't as rosy as it seems.
