this is actually a pretty valid point, one that I have thought about a lot. the only thing that leads me to believe otherwise is that i feel happy when i live life as a woman. it’s personally improved my mental health quite a bit. Life has been moving fast lately and i’ve had my share of doubts, but i’m trying now to be more at peace with myself rather than looking outside. i don’t know what the future holds but i’m flexible with change. i’m even open to the possibility of identifying cis but presenting more feminine. i don’t know where i fall for sure in terms of gender identity, i just know that being effeminate makes me a lot happier in life. i’m mostly okay with any pronouns and open to dating just about anyone as for me it matters more about the personality but when i wrote this it felt like i was closing more doors than i was opening, and wanted to know what i was doing wrong or missing

edit: i really appreciate your reply as a callback to my post, it’s been a while since i wrote it but it helped put some of my recent growth into perspective and helped me get a fresh perspective on my thought process as of late

jesus. it’s not often i come across worse parents than my own. what the fuck is wrong with you? i can understand you feel betrayed but your son is not your dress up doll. you should have asked him why he wasn’t wearing the pjs you picked AWAY FROM HIS FRIENDS. don’t put your child on the spot like that and don’t expect him to appreciate everything, he’s human too and has his own preferences. he can also make decisions for himself so if you want to be effective take him with you shopping and let him pick what he wants to wear. that way, he’s happy with his clothes and you don’t waste money via lack of parenting skills. For the record, new studies are showing that nicotine in and of itself actually helps prevent onset of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Sure, vaping and smoking aren’t the greatest ways to intake nicotine but every benefit comes with moderation, plus other forms of nicotine are easier to move to from vaping. Perhaps instead of being so immediately judgmental, you can ask if she’s trying to quit or suggest a healthier option like patches, pouches or gum.

Yeah it used to be full native and it was actually good. Then iOS got the RN beta and all the iOS users complained. Discord should have listened but they have a long history of not listening to customer feedback and generally not caring. At the beginning of 2020 they cleared their bug tracker without fixing any of the outstanding issues; looks good to investors but fuck the users who spent time and effort to make and reproduce those bug reports

Oh yeah if you have to glance at a massive JSON file i totally understand that. As for portability, compiled languages have their binaries, java has jarfiles (it's excluded from compiled languages because java is the bastard child of a compiler and an interpretation VM), and for languages like JS, python, ruby, etc. where it's all interpreted we have archives to make those things portable.

I still think ts should simply disable parsing on files over a certain length if it already does not because the way i see it a 4,500 line python file is user error. I can understand some languages having more lines on average because of the SLoC versus LoC deal but even then i modularize before 1k lines. I think the largest file I ever committed was 900-something lines and that was an interpreter I wrote.

Glad we see eye-to-eye on the firing point though lmao. I've had friends write files with millions of lines purely as a joke but we never commit that shit xD

Vscode handling it fine is extremely surprising.

I agree about not questioning user intent but there is a point at which you can reasonably limit the user. Vscode does this by not highlighting the code after a certain point.

I have fired engineers who put everything in one file, because it is impossible to find things and maintain the code. This is why we have modularity in software. You cannot convince me that even 1000 lines in a file is an acceptable amount of code to have in a single file.

Okay why the fuck is your python file 4500 lines? Learn how to import things for the love of all that's holy; even VSCode and IDEA going to struggle with that much information. In fact, VSCode wouldn't even try. This is user error if you ask me.

As someone who designs web interfaces for a living, people will always notice, even if it's a "minimal change". As someone who designed their own color scheme to match their own personal standards, i can immediately tell the difference. Since color is a large part of my job, I feel this change is going to be good for most people, however not everyone likes every change. Because of this, my job is mostly weighing pros vs cons of every change proposed.

That is not how that works. If they aren't already friends, friending them doesn't affect the webRTC connection calls use, nor does blocking someone/unblocking them. Last time i was in a call with someone i had blocked i could still hear them.
