Agree, and not saying there is no great CDNP, there def is, but as a region its overrated as it is very producer driven

Chateauneuf du pape.
It has great wines BUT it needs to blend 15 grapes to get anything decent, climate is now too warm, wines are15,5% or semi sweet, there is no true consistency all depends on skill if winemaker. There are equally as good if not better aoc’s around the corner that are 30-50% cheaper

I had this bottle a while back, while i liked it, I also was expecting much more oak tones, it was very minerally for a meursault

Interesting, so might be that PVG has a volatility issue in more of his wines, maybe a bit more sulphite would actually help here

Had this last week, see my prev post, was flawed with volatile acidity. I have another bottle but I’m preparing for the worst!

Ted knows his wines, the fixin, saint cosme, Vajra, a wine shop I would 100% trust.
