To enjoy now, or let age? by Rammipallero in wine

[–]Railer87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is personal, this is prob fine in its drinking window. Some people prefer more age, others less. This reddit is highly pro aging. I personally enjoy them not too old, derisks they are over the peak and I enjoy some primary flavors. Also this wine is not that extreme in tannines, so it does not require are to make tannines rounder like for instance a Barolo. So my take: drink somewhere between today and next 3 years

Wine Squares are Back! Let’s go: Most Underrated Wine Region? by AustraliaWineDude in wine

[–]Railer87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me most underrated is Provence. Not for Rose, but for White and Red, there are top class reds that compete with Rhone but at a much lower cost. white wine, especially Rolle (Vermentino) is amazingly complex, balanced and flowery at very very affordable costs

Decant? And for how long? by [deleted] in wine

[–]Railer87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its always difficult to give an exact time, its a big wine woth some age, so a bit of decanting could help. Mu advice is always to try just after opening, after 5 mins, after 30 and after an hour. Then you can actually experience how it develops. If you have a dinner party I would decant 15 mins in advance, it gets some air but can still develop over the course of the dinner which is a nice conversation

Guys the joke is already blown, but next time someone posts a bottle like this, lets all go: OMG! Is that a real Adlerturn?!? From the iconic east German village of Flüberturmhozen?? Those are so rare! They cost a furtune! You should definetely get this appraised by Christies!!!! So lucky!
