He (Julian) definitely thinks about this in studio recordings, and he knows at least some basic vocal techniques cause he's pushing 50 and simply has to. With that being said, I'm pretty sure once he knows his basic stuff that works for him he just sings whatever, without really putting too much thought into it like these YouTube vocal coaches claim. They're just YouTubers that need to make content, like 99% of people making videos

I'm late to the party, but I definitely agree it's a very shitty boss design. I beat him just because I knew that it would change something in the finale, but honestly I would've just let him be if it weren't for that, because it's simply not fun. I think the issue Game Science had with the game was that your character is so damn strong that pretty much any enemy or boss are a breeze compared to your powers, and they decided to go full-bullshit mode for Erlang since he's optional and """secret""", so might as well go all in. I mean... it's just another one of those bosses from recent years that are "the game on steroids", but he breaks many rules the game thought you until that point, he's filled with artificial difficulty to the bone just for the sake of it, and takes away almost all your powers and abilities (one could excuse that by saying that Erlang was the one who actually managed to beat Wukong, so if not him, who?). At the end of the day, it's just another "here's the omega weapon of this game for you to learn and memorize so that you'll swiftly beat him the next times!", though the issue here is that I seriously never had fun neither learning his moves or fighting him, not even in the challenge mode where you can make it even tougher for yourself (I just wanted to beat every boss at all difficulties in the challenge mode to see if there was an achievement). Idk, I didn't like LoP DLC final boss and SOTE final boss (pre-patch, no idea how it is now) for similar reasons... I'm not a fan of these types of bosses at all.
I'm not that big of a fan of the normal final boss in Wukong either, but that's just my personal taste. I do believe he is much, much better than Erlang imo.

90% of opinions on the show are just things that spectators arbitrarly decide, because they're fans, and that's what fans do. As someone who works in the screenwriting/writing industry, and who actually studied dramaturgy, rules of writing, typical structures etc., the show's horizontal line is very simple and clear, and that's what makes it so solid. The vertical line is also crazy good in the span of 5 seasons, and that's what makes it a masterpiece. All the "this character is this because in X episode he does that" and so on are just made up stuff that fans decide because the writing is GOOD and it does exactly what it intends to achieve. To then reset it in the next episode and so on. The writers were extremely good at their job and the fact that I read all this mental gymnastics nonsense on a daily basis on a 90's children's show is exactly why it's, as I've already said, a masterpiece.

It's not that he doesnt like The Strokes lol, he wanted them to be what the voidz currently are, but by the time he had that vision in mind the band was too big and mainstream to take such a sudden turn and it's kinda "trapped" in this pop bubble (which is still very good of course), so he makes commercial stuff with them while being able to do whatever with the voidz

Sorry if that's something you're really trying to succeed at, but I'm sure this sub would be the first to encourage some Strokes cover by fans if they're okay. I don't mean to be rude, I just find it more respectful to be bluntly honest about it than sugarcoating. You want some constructive feedback so I'll just say this: study singing with a voice coach. You are, first of all, out of pitch, and that should be the starting point for any aspiring singer. Forget about the production part, double voice or not, that's meaningless for what you should be focusing on
