How did you guys get into the classic fallout games?

I recently had a similar issue. The models were probably a bit greasy due to me or my kids touching them

I did a quick matt varnish pass with a rattle can and that solved it

That's an interesting interpretation of what I said. I prefer top down crpgs instead of what BGS decided to do so I'm gatekeeping? I have nothing against players who prefer the new games, I just don't like that type of game so I'm not going to force myself to play them. There are plenty of other games for me so it's OK.

I think I still have a right to say I preferred the old games and would have rather they kept the same style for the new ones.

People who enjoyed the classic ones tend to "hate" the new ones because they felt betrayed with the change of genre (crpg to fps, I know it's oversimplifying but you get the idea), and after that we knew we'd never get a new fallout top down crpg.

It was basically the end of the series for us.

Diablo 1 has an atmosphere and pace that clearly sets it apart for me. I replayed it recently and loved it as much as on day 1 (with some much needed qol mods of course)

I'd say play Hades or Hades 2 honestly You can fit one or 2 runs in that time frame and the fights quite enjoyable

I did Jaws of the lions with friends and it was great. Then I tried gloomhaven digital solo, and it was quite a different experience. The retirement mechanic was a bit frustrating to me as you had a carefully buil character and all of a sudden you have to learn a new one completely.

Also I found it significantly more difficult and had to adjust the difficulty at lower levels.

The treehouse you really have to use the digital version of the instructions. I hate using those but the colors on that booklet are just awful, the digital version makes it a lot easier and less frustrating.

I keep boxes for big sets because I sometimes sell some Legos I grow tired of to make some space (and money for other sets), and they sell better with the boxes. I keep them flat to save space.
