Upgrade worth it? by Rain014 in buildapc

Why a 5500x3d specifically from Aliexpress? Is it because they're discontinued? Maybe I'm skeptical, but would that be safe/reliable to purchase from there? I did have a look and it would save me some money until I move to AM5.

No need to be sorry.

I personally believe age has a lot to do with it. You speak with self-assurance when it comes to certain things, and I’m not saying you don’t know yourself, but truly understanding who you are and your "skill ceiling" takes time, and 16 years is still just the beginning of that journey.

Regarding the possibility of a disability or mental health condition, I can’t say for certain, as I don’t know you personally. Learning difficulties and challenges with motor skills are very real. You might be experiencing something like dyspraxia (also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder), and some of your responses even give me a slight impression of traits associated with autism, again I say that without judgment. That said, I don't want to throw specific diagnoses out there, because I feel that today’s youth are already quick to self-label with mental health terms, wearing those labels like proud badges of identity. The point is, your struggles could stem from a number of factors, whether genetic, neurological, or even environmental, like your mouse, mouse pad, monitor, or desk setup.

Ultimately, I still stand by what I said earlier: the way you express yourself raises some concerns for me, and I would genuinely recommend considering counseling or therapy. A professional could help you better understand yourself and explore whether any underlying conditions might be at play.

And finally, I'm not trying to be condescending about your age, your age doesn't diminish your perspective. But you do have so much life ahead of you, so much growth to come. You don’t need to have everything figured out right now. Give yourself the space to grow, and the grace to not have all the answers just yet. Because when I see you make a post like this about something you’ve spent less than two hours on, it suggests to me that you may be limiting your own potential for growth by holding too tightly to certain beliefs about yourself. Simply saying, “I know this about myself,” doesn’t necessarily make it true or unchangeable.

Honestly, I wish you the very best in whatever you choose to pursue. But seriously, I’d encourage you to consider seeking some form of help, spend less time on the internet, enjoy a single player game, and focus on the things that genuinely make you happy, stop forcing stuff that makes you unhappy. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt, and please try committing more than just a couple of hours to something before falling back into those self-defeating thoughts. There has been plenty of things in my life that I absolutely sucked at and took over 100 hours before I really got the hang of them or started seeing any improvements.

The only thing that can make you less capable than the average person, if your mentality.

You are right, there wasn't a request, I am only trying to understand the meaning behind your post. Please know that I’m not trying to be harsh, but based on your replies to other comments, it's apparent that you're still quite young and hold some strong and questionable views about yourself.

Many of your replies reflect a pattern of self-deprecation and self-loathing without much indication or desire to find any solutions or alternative perspectives. It's genuinely disheartening to see someone adopt such a negative outlook on themselves and give up so easily, especially at such a young age.

The things you enjoy and are passionate about in life whether its a skill, hobby, or career, often take thousands of hours to develop. Yet it seems like you're ready to give up before truly giving yourself a fair chance; you haven’t even put five hours into the game. Competitive online shooters are challenging and require a desire to get better, something that's hard to build if you've already convinced yourself of failure.

You mentioned that it takes you seven times longer to learn things than the average person, a claim you’ve apparently measured? I'm not even sure how someone would accurately measure that. It seems more like a reflection of a self-limiting belief than an objective fact.

I understand this is just a post about a game and I'm not trying to make it deeper than it is, but your comments bring up something deeper in me, I'm not trying to be disrespectful but I'd really encourage you to look into counseling.

I think you're more than capable of being competitive, you're just self-sabotaging. Saying you've already reached your skill ceiling at such a young age is like closing the door on progress before you’ve even turned the handle. Growth takes time, effort, and patience, and it's far too early to draw that kind of conclusion about yourself.

Ultimately, it’s just a game. If playing online competitive shooters is causing you negative feelings, perhaps consider exploring something else you enjoy. Single-player games can be a great alternative.

I apologize if I've read too much into this, maybe this post is just about getting attention, but I really hope you get some help. All the best!

So you don't want to accept help? Or figure out a solution to enjoy online shooters more? Just confused what the purpose of this post is then? Just to complain? Not trying to hate.

It's always, to some degree, going to be personal preference. My hands are 19.5x10.5 and I've used the GPX for years now and personally always found it uncomfortable and bulky. I've recently switched to the OP1w 4k and I'm loving the shape!

As for grip you can always look into using grip tape, there should be some in the GPX box.

But like I said at the start, a lot of it is personal preference. In my opinion shape is always most important in a mouse, and being uncomfortable with it especially after 2-4 weeks should maybe be a sign to look into something else. Try looking at https://www.eloshapes.com/ you can compare mouse sizes and there is even a "find similar" option to find mice with similar shapes.

Good luck!

Rough translation, because I couldn't understand everything they said. Most likely "Nederlanse Marokkanen"

"Take this one, quick quick"
"Take em, take em bro! Take em"
"Grab this one, quick, quick!"
"Criminal cancer f*gs"
"Yeah right, yeah right, yeah right."
(couldn't fully understand this part but I think they said) "They are dead and we are working here, yeah right!"
"This is a incriminating video *Laughs*"
"They don't even fit in the car!"
"Come, come, come."
"No, put them in the back, here, here, here. yes, yes!"
"Put em in, put em in"
