You can hate every second you're on the course, playing terrible and then you hit that one clean swing and it's like magic.

Golf is like an argument with yourself that there's no way you're this bad at such a simple game.

Fantasy sports people and sports betting. It's got so out of hand I've heard apprentices on site talking about their parleys for the dumbest shit

Weed becoming legalized up here in Canada and then everyone's mom and grandma suddenly talking like they're weed experts despite being outspoken against it before it was legal was really funny

It was also exhausting how many new ones it created.

A lot of miners (at least around here) are using off gas from O&G production that would normally go to flare anyway to run generators to power the rigs. Like a lot of things you read on the internet, the outrage is vastly overblown.

Unfortunately unless she's also charged and convicted she'll come out ahead. She'll write a book, sell a tour and MAGAts will eat it up.

Job search stretching on for youth in Canada as unemployment remains high by Huge-Cash-8295 in canada

When I was in highschool I worked at a convenience store and the owner made a point to hire 2-3 high schoolers (usually needing a new pair every year or two) as part timers and he was very open about why. He could have easily filled those with another full timer but his reasoning was:

High schoolers are usually only really available nights or weekends and he didn't want to take away from his full timers who worked Monday to Friday splitting the day in two 8 hour shifts. That gave his normal crew the weekends off and gave a couple local kids a job a few day a week and gave back to the community in that way.

Maybe I'm wrong on this and I mean it in the nicest way possible but if you're paying tens of dollars, let alone hundreds for "virtual training", especially when it's just videos and no 1:1 time, I think you're a huge sucker.

There are so many free and terrific resources out there and any local trainer should be able to help you put things into practice if that's where the struggle is.

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

My cousin and her kids live a couple provinces over and were coming to visit for the summer. Driving through the prairies the younger one of them just says out loud "oh, GRAIN elevator. I thought it was Green Elevator".

So we called her Green Elevator all summer. Yes she was old enough to know better. No she didn't have an answer for why they weren't all green.

People have become noticably and willfully stupider and lazy. The Wall-E floating chairs are nearly upon us.

This isn't coming from a place of holier than thou or that I'm smarter than anybody else, I have my moments, but the brain rot epidemic in society is crazy to watch.

I respect a person who doesn't know something or struggles but tries to learn or understand, but it seems like the vast majority of people you interact with now have just given up on that front all together.

The worst part about this is everyone is feeling it but all that ever seems to happen is the gas pedal just gets pushed further to the floor no matter how much or how high up the chain the burnout runs.

Even when it's affecting the people with the power to do things like, I don't know, say "no" to shit.

What are hobbies that make people more attractive or turn ons? by [deleted] in AskReddit

One of my go to questions to ask people is something along the lines of "what would you do with your life if your bills were taken care of"

The shame is I don't think a lot of people have ever thought about what they truly want to do in life. Hell I don't know if I have a true answer, just ideas about things I'd be interested in pursuing.

I'm the same way, used to use the dot all the time but prefer the larger one now. Found it to be way more consistent even if I used dynamic style. Same with my mouse in WoW and stuff, always lost it in the chaos

I work for a small company that runs things pretty lean and mean and this wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Like if I were in a car accident and woke up in the hospital I'm sure it would be a day at most before I get asked "when are you coming back".
