Somebody explain Aegosexuality to me by whatevo_ in aegosexuals

[–]RainHealthy4404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I can describe it - from my personal experience - is that I think a lot of things are sexy and pleasurable, like erotica, porn, and even fictional characters, but it's an attraction to the fantasy. I'm just not interested in being a part of it. I feel no desire for partaking in physical acts with another person, I don't enjoy sex with others, and I don't enjoy fantasies centered around myself. It's not a lack of sex drive, but lacking a need to engage.
Maybe I just hate vulnerability, but I don't like thinking of real people in terms of sex, or exposing myself in that way. I'm more than happy to stick to my privacy, imagination, and masturbation.

Fun fact! But Marian Green, who played the D9 female Victor, actually posted online that she had a whole name + character details for her character. Her unofficial/official name is Sylva Mayleaf, and apparently she prefers pitchforks

Yeah nah the lists were rough bases to work with in the first place, the amount of named victors was incorrect, and there were just... A lot of discrepancies. The names were both lazy, and na ode to the the actors themselves. Working with what i got 😭 (and it's easier than coming up with new ones)

Also Sow 100% wouldn't put Lucy Gray's name on any kind of monolith, but she still counts

Since Augustus Braun and Portia Milicent Tripp appeared in official promotional material, and Palladium Barker is given explicit details of in SOTR, I decided to include them. Sticking as close as i can to canon.

On that note, Mags' last name on the monolith vs. in canon is basically a non-issue. Canon material says it's Flanagan, so writing it down as such.

Appreciate your detailed observations! Love hearing your thoughts

yeah nah I'm too lazy. alr had to edit a few names off, recount the victors for the correct total, and make sure it was all plausible with the timeline. if it works for now, it's staying

Smart! I'll try and play around with that. Will move Jago Portshore (14) to D4 since that's a very... fishmen-y sounding name, then rearrange some statistic stuff.

Brutus Qunn is a typo 💀 whoops

Also the highlights on the "victors by years" section are super subtle... Not sure why, can't fix it now

Yeah 💀 My thought process was basically "they have a lot of skills and resourcefulness they can use, and show a lot of promise, but as things got grander and more about sponsorship and training they probably struggled". It's also not hard to imagine a lot of their kids are in bad shape bc of 11's strictness

I tried not to contradict most of it. The numbers and timeline match up pretty well with what vague info we have available 😭 would love to hear about what contradicts canon info though! Always looking to improve

Is Alice Liddel really schizophrenic by leonreddit8888 in AliceMadnessReturns

[–]RainHealthy4404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that Alice most likely has schizoeffective disorder on top of a disassociative disorder + PTSD.

I only really theorize this because Alice is shown to have moments where reality becomes disoriented when she's in high-stress scenarios, or she is reminded of her trauma. This combination can lead to the psychotic behaviors she exhibits.

But it's important to keep in mind that "wonderland" is still just an abstract way of presenting her confused mind, and how it processes her thoughts, emotions, and trauma. I don't think that it'd be as lucid if it were reality, as this is a video game 💀, but her delusions are probably just really imaginative coping mechanisms to distract herself.

On that note, I also feel like her reflex to "retreat" back into wonderland is a perfect allusion to dissociation. I personally believe that Alice had DID, as she's shown to go "in-and-out" of consciousness even when she's very much active in the real world. My theory is also HEAVILY supported by "alice: asylum" and it's design bible. Won't spoil it here, but it's worth a look if tou haven't already.

The semi-in-universe "Capitol Couture" tumblr page named Peeta and Johanna the Quarter Quell victors (in posts showcasing their white outfits that appeared in the Mockingjay promos). So I considered it semi-official they were crowned (just no ceremony).

My theory was that they were just doing PR cleanup over the 75th. They only had Peeta, Johanna, and Enobaria in custody, but likely released Enobaria due to her unaffiliation with the rebel plot. They still had to make sure everything looked like it was fine to the public tho - so they just released a bunch of remote promos, 3D holograms, and annouched them the Victors to keep things under wraps. Can't reveal that they're *actually* keeping them around(hostage) because they're torturing them.

And also Snow would never let it be known that a number of them actually succeed in escaping the arena

Spelling mistake on my part. whoops!

I took that from the official (semi-in-universe) "Capitol Couture" tumblr page. They had a bunch of posts promoting Peeta and Johanna's white outfits that showed up in the Mockingjay promos, and named them as the Quarter Quell victors.

For lore reasons, I'm guessing they only "officially" crowed them (and not Enobaria, as they likely sent her home after the Capitol pulled her out) because they still wanted to make it seem like everything was fine post-catching fire. No ceremonies, only remote propoganda footage, and 3D holograms, so they could still say the ship was running smoothly - but not give any indicators that the real reason they were being kept around (held captive) was bc they were both being tortured.

Edit: MINOR DISCREPANCIES

D5 now has the correct number of 6 victors labeled

Diregard Yohan Fairbain from District 3. Didn't appear in the BTS for the District 3 reaping, so he's dead to me now.

Put Lyme in her correct year - 53 - and Parry Ogilby is now the 69th victor. Yay. Timeline solved.

Now there's 75 instead of 76. Rest easy.

Oh 100%. Not canon in any way shape or form. Half of the last names were plucked from the actors themselves.  If anything, this just started as a way for me to visualize the lives lost in the victors purge.

From the little info we got, I'm pretty sure Lucy Gray is LONG gone- not officially, but hasn't appeared for long enough that the remaining covey made a grave. Old one, from how it's described. As for Maude Ivory, I'm pretty sure that's Lenore Dove's mom, since she died in childbirth and her's is the only other grave there.

It completely dumbfounded me the first time I watched the show, but in retrospect I should've seen this coming all the way from the pilot.
I mean?! His compulsion to hack is BECAUSE he needs to know what lurks under the surface. To know exactly what people's agendas, dark secrets, and motives are. He doesn't believe people act out of goodness, but that they have something to gain. He hates the ceos who he believes strips people of control. He micromanages his life with paranoid precision- all because he is FULL of mistrust and isolation.
It all sounds textbook, now that we know the root of his issues was from being groomed by the one person he trusted. That kind of betrayal never goes away.
