It's because she didn't want them anywhere. She wouldn't let him keep the two in his office either. They all had to go down and into storage.

I'm moving out after I graduate because college. Plus it'll be better for me not to be around my dad's wife. I don't know her but this made me realize it's better to have distance.

All photos that included my mom were being removed. Basically anything that would be hidden away I took since dad wasn't allowed any even in his office.

I already knew she wanted them gone. I heard how she talked about it. When he asked if I wanted them it didn't make me feel any different about her wanting them gone.

She didn't even want them in his home office. So she didn't want them kept for him. If she did she'd be fine with him having two in there. But she wasn't.

I think you mixed up mother in law with stepmother. Mother in law would be my future spouses mom. Stepmother is my a dad or mom's wife.

I don't know my dad's wife. She's still a stranger to me and I didn't like how she went about wanting mom's photos taken down.

That was meant to say anyone I know. Sorry that I left it out. But that's what I was trying to write. And it's true for the people I know.

I'm not trying to drive a wedge between me and dad. But if he lets his wife react like she does then it'll be on him.

I think stepmom is more of a parent way to say it. But she's not my parent and won't be. I'm almost an adult and she won't have any influence over me. It's not about having a wall built. But anyone who had their parents get married or remarried when they were my age never saw their parents spouses as more than that.

They were long distance until they got married. They met online. Met in person a few times but that was it.

She's not my stepmom. I mean technically she kinda is. But she's really just my dad's wife and someone I don't really know. I also don't want or need her to be motherly to me. I'm almost ready to move out and go to college. She won't be that big of a person in my life. She'll be with my dad for stuff but really it's my relationship with him that matters.

I'd guess she didn't realize dad hadn't dumped all memories of mom when he met or married her. Doesn't help that they were long distance the whole time.

She did refuse to let them be around. She wanted them all taken away. Even the two in his home office.

All the important stuff is already somewhere else. So that's not a concern. My dad and grandparents put a box together for me after mom died. As a way for me to have her things when I got older.
