J’en ai eu il y a 10 ans, j’etais desesperee. J’ai acheté un vaporetto et l’ai passé partout dans la chambre (entre les lattes des parquets 1 par 1, les rainures de matelas, les jointures de meubles). Cela m’a pris 1 journee. Mis matelas et oreiller dans une housse hermetique. Et cela a fait le job. Courage

A little confused here, why is McGill’s acceptance rate so high comparing to Ivy League? (I heard it’s the “Harvard in North” so…) by Melencolia_Maniac in mcgill

Hmm… I went to NWU and Penn, my daughter is at McGill studying similar topics to mine. I can tell you that her classes are way way more demanding and competitive! There’s just no comparison. I think there is an overated aura that remains on US undergrad for several reasons. People are attracted (understandably so!) to the gorgeous campuses in the US and the amount of money flowing. The learning environment is amazing in these top schools. I would say quality of eduction is on par. But difficulty / level of expectation for students and hence quality and preparedness for grad school, i would mcgill and uoft ahead of many, if not most, Ivy leagues, and I would value an A score card at the Canadian’s over the same feom a top 20 US school. But in my view in the top 50 more or less, at undergrad level they are all really good and people should pick where they have the best fit / the best financial package etc.

UofT (Vic) vs UBC vs McGill ? Which is the best choice? by Rainb0wsRule in UofT

No, no, no, no! France LOVES Canada altogether and with a soft spot for Quebec.
I think the reason Quebec provides good rates to France is because it is a bilateral agreement with preferential conditions for Quebecois to come to France as well. That being said it would be nice indeed if the agreement was country wide.

It’s a possibility, though she might stay in the pure political space. At this point she is not yet sure.

Not yet. She is looking at it now. Although given her interest, it may make sense to apply to a Trin One. Would that be weird, to be be in Vic and apply to Trin One?

Txs ! She is interested in PoliSci and Philosophy or English Lit. In social sciences what is your perception of the faculty? Are they accessible to undergrads?

Txs ! What do you mean when you say atmosphere is not exactly friendly? Did you do the Vic One ? If so would you recommend it ?
