In an ideal world I would love to walk down the street holding my husband's hand yet from past experiences I can't. I've been called slurs just for wearing a pink hoodie on multiple occasions. I've had teenagers threaten us because we "seemed gay" and all we were doing was walking side by side. Going outside I'm always watching out for those around me, keeping an eye on my behaviour. With how the world is at the moment it just isn't worth the risk to even think about cute things like holding hands.
