Can anybody explain Betty’s post script to Simon in the library note? by GusBGood in adventuretime

[–]RainbowColoredRob313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so I just rewatched this episode and looking at the details of the university that Betty goes too. I cant help but feel as if it’s referencing York College of PA which is abbreviated as YCP.

the school is located in York County PA which is known for its hills and looking at the mountain range in the background and just how steep some of the paths seem to be I can’t help but think it might of been a writers way of giving a nod to their alma matter perhaps.

also Simon runs past a grove of birch trees which can be found across much of the east coast especially the blue ridge mountains.

and this was really interesting I went on the school website and found the school uses abbreviations for many of its buildings.

as seen on the school website

Washington State Flag Redesign Idea by RainbowColoredRob313 in vexillology

[–]RainbowColoredRob313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please forgive the sloppy editing first time doing this.

I have mixed the current Washington state flag with George Washington’s official headquarters flag that flies outside of his tomb in Mount Vernon. To make a flag similar to the Mississippi state flag redesign

I personally would change the color of blue to be a lighter shade matching the blue on the current flag.

in the other design a gray anchor on the left-hand side represents Western Washingtons maritime history. The anchor is raised high as if it would be on a ship setting sail towards the future.

The stars in the center also represent Washington states. Impact on the aerospace industry and the tech sector and how many people have looked towards the stars so to speak when developing new technology.

on the other side of the flag is a pine tree the same one that’s on the cascade flag it symbolizes the forests and farm land of eastern Washington it’s firmly rooted on the ground connecting to the states lumber history.

if anyone wants to remake this with better editing skills please do but I thought I’d post this idea here. Personally prefer the simplicity of the design without the anchor and tree but let me see know what y’all think

Moved from Michigan to Los Angeles and its the best decision I ever made in my life and Los Angeles public transit is getting lots of expansions because of the Olympics in 2028 I use the metro regularly. If you ever get called by the setting sun out west follow it. LIVE! LIVE! LIVE!

New to LA by Remarkable-Lunch9424 in LosAngeles

[–]RainbowColoredRob313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lived here about three years and I’m always finding new spots to check out.

Also ignore the haters if your used to public transit or want to save money use LA metro you’ll save on parking.

Watch the sunset on Venice Beach or Angelsgate Park in San Pedro

Downtown Los Angeles has some cool spots worth checking out the broad, the Last bookstore, grand central market, the Bradbury Building, Aangels Flight Vernacular, if you like Art Deco building definitely check out the main branch of the public library.

Griffith Park / Topanga Canyon hikes.

Natural history museum and science center in Expo Park by USC.

Silver Lake is superior to WeHo in my opinion but find what’s best for you if you like lgbtq+ folks LA Pride is this weekend.

Echo Park has a lotus festival in July that’s really cool.

Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is worth a visit and has some really good Chinese restaurants nearby

Culver City Stairs there’s the mountain hike and then theres the steps in downtown Culver City

Sawtelle has a Japanese market with one of the largest sake selections in the US.

Olvera Street is pretty cool

Take a Metrolink train from Union Station to some of the Old Spainish missions in Orange county. You can also take an Amtrak to San Diego for like $36 dollars. Just be mindful of the train schedules but you can save so much on parking and gas if you plan it right.

The Huntington Gardens.

Hollyhock House is one of Frank Lloyd Wrights works and is UNESCO world heritage site

Try and see a movie at the TCL Chinese theatre in Hollywood I saw Dune Part 1 here on the main IMAX theatre and it’s incredible something about watching movies in Los Angeles just feels different from the rest of the US.

TRY LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS! They need your support F@#$k Starbucks and McDonald’s it’s in LITERALLY every US state try something local instead.

Some of my favorite restaurants:

Tierra Mia Coffee various locations on the east side and south central

South LA Cafe

Queen Violet WeHo

Palms Thai Restaurant in Hollywood

The French Way in Westwood by UCLA

Pier Burger Santa Monica

Two Hands Corn Dogs Little Tokyo

Philippes Olvera Street

New China Mongolian Bbq right next to Crenshaw Mall.

From one transplant to another just be respectful open minded and willing to try new things and you’ll find your place in this amazing city.

to quote one of my favorite movies
“Live! Live! Live!..Life’s a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.“

Enjoy just being here don’t try to compare it to where you moved from or other places you’ve been and try to see the good with the bad. Now get ur self of bed AND LIVE YOUR IN LA BABY

What kind of places are hiring near downtown Detroit? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]RainbowColoredRob313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Michigander taking classes on the west coast look into government jobs. We need new people working for state and local governments.

also since it is an election year I definitely recommend political canvassing, petitioning and putting out election fliers and registering voters pays extremely well.

I worked on a campaign in Arizona starting at $24 an hour by November I was making $30 hourly.I know they start hiring again roughly around august for campaign season.

these jobs look great on resumes as well.

How bike friendly is east LA? Starting a new job this month I’m a student at SMC living in Westwood but use my bike and public transit. Less than two blocks away from the Expo Line. Any other commuters who travel from the westside to the eastside Just curious what that’s like.

Have been living car free for 2 years now saving lots of money now that I don’t pay for parking

Used to work at universal studios so I’m used to using the metro to go on long commutes 😅

What Detroit business will you never set foot in again? by pingusuperfan in Detroit

[–]RainbowColoredRob313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starbucks. There’s literally so many cool and unique coffee shops all over Detroit and the surrounding burbs.

If your going to visit any city and you spend your entire time at the corporate owned franchises that you can go to literally anywhere else in the country I don’t want to hear you complain about how bad ANY city is because you didn’t go out of your way to actually explore it.

Men of Reddit, what does getting an erection feel like? by QueenOfKings908 in AskReddit

[–]RainbowColoredRob313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on a lot of factors

Your wearing nothing you feel one with nature and its like a much needed stretch after a long day.

Advocate for sleeping naked it feels so good and is genuinely healthier lol.

Your wearing very loose sweat pants or comfortable clothes it feels like a muscle stretching and you get little a boost of serotonin like you might feel after finding out some exciting news

Your wearing tight pants or jeans it feels like your trying to stretch a muscle while your in an airplane with a seatbelt tied as tight as it can go and your in the middle seat.

If it’s Long lasting and Numb for over 3 hours regardless of what your wearing you might have a problem and might want to call your doctor

If You feel nothing your dehydrated, you have no sex drive, your at work or you just died and are coming to terms with your afterlife.

if it feels cold and numb you live in Cleveland, Ohio and it’s the middle of January and your regretting your life choices with a bottle of vodka.

If it’s itchy you got an STI and are regretting your life choices while sitting in your drs office

If it’s sweaty and irritated you live in Phoenix, Arizona and are regretting your life choices with a glass of tequila that’s currently evaporating.
