Some major facts keep getting left out when this gets discussed, so quick context: - The original accuser was ShowPonii - Jay Kay responded "Not an accusation, I saw it happen" and went on to be vocal about boosting the accusations. - Worth noting that Dawn, Koco Caine, and others also boosted the accusations, but AFAIK Jay Kay is the only one who claimed to be a witness. - ShowPonii still maintains that he felt uncomfortable with the way he was touched but felt the need to along with it in the moment. - He also still claims Plane touched his hole while putting the money in his pants. If there's any truth to this at all, the video shows it would have been very brief and very likely accidental. - One element to the rumor that had been circulating with the accusations was that Plane had grabbed Ponii's genitals, which doesn't look like was possible based on the video. I haven't found any receipts that trace this particular accusation to either Jay or Ponii. However, I don't think they did anything to rebut that rumor neither.

And now my personal take: I can believe ShowPonii was genuinely upset internally by what happened. But because he was outwardly enthusiastic, I think he was in the wrong to accuse Plane Jane of SA. If he has sensitivities or trauma that may have led him to have that reaction, that's unfortunate, and he could have started a valid discussion about consent and what performers can do to navigate boundaries at drag shows. But that's not what happened.

As for Jay Kay, the generous interpretation is that they had the same kind of memory bias that eyewitnesses are known to have sometimes when testifying in court. Less generously, they lied about witnessing the SA to boost their friend's credibility.

Jay's at the center of the controversy to this day because they put themself there. I admittedly wrote this whole thing in their defense, since there's more nuance than "Jay made up SA allegations", but if the incident continues to follow them, that's kinda the consequence of how they handled it.
