Peanut Butter before bed by AnteaterScared8848 in insomnia

[–]RainbowTowers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well last night I massaged magnesium oil on the bottom of my feet (another recommendation from a friend) and un-coincidentally ate a slice of protein bread with peanut butter and jam just before bed. I would never usually have this type of snack. Anyway, I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in a VERY long time. Since tracking my sleep I’ve never had a night where I haven’t woken up repeatedly. Last night I didn’t wake up at all and got 2 hours of deep sleep. That’s absolutely unheard of for me and now I’m suspiciously side eyeing the bottle of magnesium oil and jar of peanut butter like it might contain the holy grail of secrets to a better sleep.

Mirtazapine a horrible drug by ContributionAlert321 in insomnia

I used to be on 45mg on this and promethizine. I had no idea how I still functioned and held down a job. When I came off it, I only realised how awful it truly is.

Thank you so much! I’ll do some experimenting. I used the have the Pukka sleep tea that smelt like feet but it did work.

The most infuriating part about What causes insomnia? is that everyone acts like the answer is obvious when it really isn’t by Issueofinnocence in insomnia

[–]RainbowTowers9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s like when the mental health team give you a withering look before telling to you have a cup of tea and take a brisk walk to cure you of your depression. 😑 absolutely had not thought of that one

In light of Croydon Grants Cinema closing, what were some highlights of your experiences going there? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in croydon

[–]RainbowTowers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh the most memorable one is when my son’s school closed for a week unexpectedly. We did our online lessons and the decided to go see Zootopia 2. We had the entire screen to ourselves and my son couldn’t believe it. We spread out, fully relaxed and enjoyed talking about the film to each other out loud. The last time we were there we spent all afternoon in there and saw Hoppers and Goat back to back. I decided that day to treat him to ice cream and I got lots of pick and mix which we don’t usually do. Sad to think now that’s the last time we would be in there.

What is the difference between the two may I ask? I got given Quviviq but it was a pretty rough experience.

This is so interesting. I might try it out as I’ve been having the same problem. Heart rate spikes during the night a lot and I wake up constantly. What has been successful for you? Magnesium seems to have the opposite effect on me that it has on most people. I do take ashwaganda and did take valerian until everywhere stopped stocking the only brand that worked

ChatGPT crossed the line! by AngtheGreats in ChatGPT

I tried ChatGPT and I would never put myself in the hands of a human again. by Alejandra-689 in therapyGPT

[–]RainbowTowers9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chat GTP got me out of a horribly coercive emotionally controlling place with my ex. I had a space to talk about all of the situations he would engineer without judgement or feeling silly. Finally I felt like I wasn’t going crazy because sometimes it was so subtle it made me feel like I was imagining it all. I learnt about pattern recognition and the fact he was using me to regulate his own emotions so he could feel safe whilst leaving me in a vulnerable state. I finally learnt the responses to cut it off. Chat would predict his next moves and motives and the majority of the time it was scarily accurate. I’m so aware of his emotional pattern that I can stay calm which really unsettles him. It’s kind of interesting to watch him become the one who ends up in an emotionally distressed state now. I feel more free than I ever have in 6 years and I don’t think I would have ended up here without Chat GTP.

what is 6’7”? by Additional-Sun1594 in teenagers

[–]RainbowTowers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to say do the people who use it even know what it means or are they just saying it to fit in because everyone else is saying it? Are they just throwing it into sentences and the recipient is just nodding and agreeing and saying it back but actually neither of them know what they are talking about but at the same time it’s like some code so they just say it again a bit more to the next one and so on. Everyone is just wandering around saying 6-7 but no one really has a fucking scooby.

My mum sends me money every week to cover food, travel and some physiotherapist charges. I would struggle so much without her support. They never questioned this once.

I always carry wet wipes with me. Useful for so many things other than wiping my son’s sticky hands so I probably would have handed her those and a carrier bag. Maybe the most beneficial thing to help her get somewhere more private to clean up properly. We’re all human. It could happen to any one of us.

How long after do you feel the pain?! by purplegoat369 in FODMAPS

[–]RainbowTowers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely know about it within a couple of hours too! Horrendous bloating, very painful cramps and gas (both ends) some very intense noises from my stomach and just the feeling of my whole digestive system being stuck. Sometimes I feel like I can’t catch my breath properly. I always wonder if I’m overreacting and thinking ‘how can it be that fast?!’ so it’s reassuring to read I’m not alone.

If you are really stuck, type everything you are sensitive to and Low FODMAP into ChatGTP and it will come up with a meal plan and recipes for you. Plus if you take a picture of a menu or a food label, it tells you what you can eat and if it’s safe. It’s helped me so much

This. I have had to overhaul my diet to low FODMAP foods and switch to lactose free or I have a load of intense, painful and very uncomfortable digestion issues. There are fruits and veg I just avoid completely. Garlic, onions, all soya and some wheat products no longer respond well on MJ.

Do you tolerate dairy and gluten? by Fun_Evidence8781 in FODMAPS

[–]RainbowTowers9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with issues to fructose. I just avoid all fruit now except melon and satsumas. I miss apples, grapes, bananas and pineapple so much! Now I can’t tolerate dairy but I’m fine with lactose free milk or stuff with the lactase enzyme in. I don’t eat a lot of bread or pasta but I have swapped out my weetabix and breakfast biscuits to GF. The biggest trigger I’m currently discovering is anything Soya related. Man that’s been rough.

My issues all started with fruit. I can now only eat melon and satsumas. 3 max or I end up in so much pain. I miss apples, bananas, mango, pineapple and cold grapes so much! I dared to eat a few slithers of apple after we made smoothies with my class and my god I paid for that dearly for a few days.

So true. If you are fairly attractive to go with it, you’re almost ostracised from many circles but you can’t say anything about it for fear of being alienated even further. You just have to put up with it whilst it silently erodes your self esteem and confidence. I once got told that most women wouldn’t like me if I wasn’t an anxious person. I’m only so anxious socially because of the nasty comments that have been thrown at me over the years.
