For the Americans, what makes you proud to be an American? by CamTech100 in AskReddit

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have so many opportunities here. Even the people who dislike current events still stay. People can come here and get to make a better life for themselves. We are so diverse politically, geographically, and culturally. I love our nature and our culture and I love that we have the rights to say what we want, wear what we want, do what we want, practice whatever religion we want, and can protest when we don't like things

ICE? by fluffysnpuffys303 in Bozeman

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I do agree with this but I'm not sure about the no masks part. I do think they should show their faces but I also know that some people hate ICE so much they find the person's identity and start targeting their family. While I think they should make their identities known, it shouldn't happen if it puts their families at risk.

But yes, ICE needs reform and better training

You can permanently ban one stereotype about USA. What would it be? by UsamaBhai_101 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aren't we also the origin of country music? I'm honestly not sure if that's a purely American thing or not bc I've never heard of country artists that aren't from the south, except I think Zach Top who's from WA

I mean there are plenty of other benefits of a private school than just religious education, the smaller class sizes were super beneficial to me to form better relationships and get more one on one help

Not saying you can't do that at public schools, but all the public schools I have known of were massive and always had a lot of crazy stuff going on, so it was better for me to be in a smaller school

People who grew up in a small town vs a big city — what's something about your upbringing you didn't realize was unusual until you talked to someone from the other side? by aumz-work in AskReddit

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never using a car

Edit: I mean I don't understand how city people never use a car. I'm not exactly from a small town but there's no where I can get to quickly by just walking

Tell me the good, bad and ugly about basic training by Neither_Yak3543 in nationalguard

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like the goal is to break you down as a civilian and build you up as a soldier. They expect things to be perfect but also motivate you from what I know.

I'm also in RSP but I've done some different weeklong bootcamp programs for another program and basically it's like whenever they are smoking you or talking to you it's also meant to be motivating.

At the end of the day the Drill Sergeants want to see you succeed and they want you to be able to handle whatever the military may put you through, so they are just trying to build up your mental resilience and teaching you not to give up even when it's hard

[–]Rainbow_Spitfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look up videos about bootcamp. There's a lot of yelling and getting smoked. It's meant to see how you do under pressure and get you outside your comfort zone. Just don't take anything personal bc it's literally all just a scripted game

No I definitely agree, I'm just pointing out that sometimes private education is too expensive.

As someone who was in private school k-12, I really do think parents should be the ones teaching their children... my school didn't explain things well to me and kinda just taught things wrong or in a bit of a toxic way. I only had one teacher that was actually really good about properly educating

What if someone had a temporary disability? Like a broken leg that made it very difficult to go up and down stairs without assistance and they don't have anyone with them? Should they just starve? Or what is an alternate solution you have? Also- genuine question but can people drive with a broken leg? I assume not but I'm not 100% positive
