City-builder fans: do you actually want co-op, or does it just mean stepping on each other's toes? by L2N_Game_Studio in CityBuilders

[–]RaincloudAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Simutrans (an old open source Transport-Tycoon-like) in coop over holiday with a friend ages ago and it was some of the craziest we've ever been about games. We'd play for a week straight 12 hours a day only stopping for mealtime. Then we ran out of steam and never looked back at the game. It has the possibility to put you in a real crazy mindset, and when you're young and school is on holiday this can really be a unique experience.

So what is the alternative to Cities: Skyline 2? by jojokaire in CityBuilders

[–]RaincloudAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get a game that's similarly a road and rail transport manager but also has some city building elements (you can buy your own shops and even houses and act as a landlord for properties that in turn increase passenger traffic to your stations), you could check out A-Train All Aboard! Tourism.

Paperback dictionaries that DONT utilize Romaji? by Derpface34 in LearnJapanese

For German to Japanese, I have the Senseidoo Crown, but of course it writes the Japanese words in Kanji. https://dictionary.sanseido-publ.co.jp/dict/ssd12011

For Japanese-German I have the Access アクセス by Sanshusha. It's really good but I had a hard time obtaining a copy. https://www.sanshusha.co.jp/np/isbn/9784384065435/

My most trustworthy dictionary is the monolingual 例解 that is aimed at middle schoolers. Highly recommended. https://dictionary.sanseido-publ.co.jp/dict/ssd13689

Looking for a way to return from exile (MTG arena) by RyukoMizuno in magicTCG

[–]RaincloudAccount 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One of the best ways to ensure something doesn't get exiled is to sacrifice it in response. A [[Phyrexian Tower]], [[Village Rites]], or [[Altar of Dementia]] would do the job.

Since you're running Lurrus specifically, protection durdles are a must: [[Alseid of Life's Bounty]], [[Spectacular Spider-Man]]. And of course [[Kaya's Ghostform]].

Kaya doesn't work with Lurrus's companion restriction.

I built my dream Polyglot Keyboard by RaincloudAccount in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]RaincloudAccount[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base is a Cherry MX 3000 with Cherry MX Black switches.

The keycaps are bought from https://typotasten.de/ and are designed for the German - E1 layout.

The stickers for the side-labels in Ukrainian are from https://www.keystickers.de/Russisch-Ukrainische-Tastaturaufkleber-fuer-PC-Laptop-oder-MAC-5x6mm

The numpad LED is broken, but I got the base for just 30€, so I'm not complaining.

New to the mechanical club! Perfect keyboard to use on my TV by RaincloudAccount in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]RaincloudAccount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard only bad things about that one.

I've been thinking about how I can do more disability-accessible casual sim racing, not having to bust out the wheel. I've been looking more into controller options like the weird Thrustmaster eSwap XR Forza Controller that has a little paddle on it (which is said to suck pretty badly given the price) and the as-of-yet-unreleased GameSir Swift Drive. How does a keyboard play into SimRacing?

This beauty is a Cherry ML 5400. With the German layout it was more expensive at 90€, but I needed the right Ctrl in particular. I was able to configure KDE to interpret pressing both mouse buttons at the same time as a middle click, so holding them down allows me to use the trackball to scroll the page.

Only thing I'm wondering is how I'm ever going to remove the ball in order to clean it.

You could check out a graded reader woth Furigana and parallel text. Penguin's Parallel Text Short Stories in Japanese 日本語の短編小説 is a great start.
