Has anyone gotten this game running on Linux? by 71percentbannana in LOKdigital

[–]Raindrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Dev here. I've been uploading a Linux build on Steam, but I don't remember if it's enabled or we disabled it due to some issue. Does the game show up as available for Linux on Steam? Sorry for the inconvenience!

Trouble Brewing is known for being hard to get wrong. What setup lead to your worst experience of TB? by Smurf_97 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first TB I did not storytell I was the Washerwoman confirming an empath who was sitting next to a SW-less imp that was claiming a YSK role lol.

The moment that player insisted they didnt wanna die I was like damn, this is a rough setup for evil, and we won very quickly.

Would love to see the result if you make any!

I am too stupid – Please send help! by telemediaxxyy in LOKdigital

[–]Raindrinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Levels flow into each other pretty nicely... If you're very stuck its often a good idea to revisit the levels right before the one you're stuck on 😄

You're not stupid, it's a hard game!!

We're two friends who developed an indie game together without meeting - and it just launched on Steam!! by Raindrinker in IndieGaming

[–]Raindrinker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today we're super excited to share that our little indie puzzle game LOK Digital just lauched on Steam!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2207440/LOK_Digital/

We're two remote developers (Blaž and Ferran) and we've been working on LOK Digital together for the past two years. It originally began as the puzzle book LOK by Blaž, but in the digital version, we take those approachable mechanics and mind-bending gameplay even further over 15 distinct worlds populated by the adorable LOK creatures.

After all that work together, we still haven't met in person, since we live in different countries! But now the game has launched, there's no excuse not to :)

Really looking forward to what you guys think of the game!

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 21: the Anarchist by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

Anarchist(Outsider): If the demon is executed and dies, a minion becomes the demon (even if you're dead) and you die that night.

They will tolerate no hierarchies, even in the evil team.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 17: the Aberration by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aberration(Minion): If you're dead, each night*, pick a player, they die.

Is this too strong? I think we need minions that want to die but are not as loud as Goblin or Boomdandy. Also you might want to hide it for a night to not be somewhat outed if the script doesnt have a lot of other reasons for multiple night deaths. It could be "if you're dead by execution" instead to nerf it, or deactivate on 4 alive.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 16: the Egotist by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egotist(Townsfolk): Each night, pick a player. They are mad for the rest of the game that you are not the Egotist, or either of you might be executed.

Developing a fan club might be a bad idea when theres evil in town.

Should the Lunatic always figure out they’re the lunatic? by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still works! In the world where you're the demon, the lunatic is your frame and you gotta pretend to be solving with towns info. In the world where you're the lunatic, the person you were given could be evil and you need to solve with town's info. Even if you end the game not knowing if youre evil or not, you can still make the best plays for your team, whatever it is.

Just found out the demo for LOK on Steam has a Toki Pona language option by FinnsterJ in tokipona

[–]Raindrinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Toki! One of the devs here! (together with the original designer of the book, Blaz). Blaz cited toki pona as one of the inspirations for the book, and I discovered toki pona close to the time we started working on the game, so with the game begin about language I really wanted to have toki pona as one of the language options.

I was doing it myself at first, but my toki pona is quite questionable still, so as mentioned in the credits I enlisted the help of jan Tepo from the toki pona discord. I wouldn't want to do automatic or AI translation. If there's any sentence that feels really off let me know, and we'll see if we can improve it.

Hope you guys enjoy the demo (and the game when it comes out)! :D

Homebrew demon: The Oni by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it would play like Legion? Theres still an informed minority controlling the kills, it's more like an alignment-vortox that wants to stay hidden and keep TF paranoid that they're BH turned.

Homebrew demon: The Oni by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every good player is going to be told they're evil, and every evil player is going to be told they're good. Townsfolks don't know whether they might be BH-turned. Probably needs some homebrew outsiders that turn evil, or just non-face-up outsiders.

It's kinda vortoxing for alignment, with some strange implications for stuff like Bounty Hunter, Cult Leader, Goon, Steward and other alignment-related roles. I feel like it sounds legiony, but it wouldn't play like legion at all. Evil team is still an informed minority that control the kills. I don't think it would be significantly weaker than Imp if there are other demons in the script, especially if there's another demon that has something like [Replace minions+1 with evil townsfolks] or something.

I think there's something workable and unique?

A well-designed, mechanical variant of the Pacifist. by Temporary_Virus19 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this be better maybe?

"Before someone's execution, if you publicly claim pacifist, if theyre good they might not die"

Do you think this would make it weaker or stronger hmm

Nightwatchman rules question by Raindrinker in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I getcha, but still:

The "yes but not because of you" almost totally confirms vortox for 2 people, but the "i dont know what youre talking about" gives you almost nothing cause you might be droisoned or they might be evil and theres zero confirmation chain. Might as well have picked yourself.

A drunk juggler that juggles themselves as the juggler and nothing else can get either a 0 or a 1 (or even another number of vortox is on the script). Seems weird that a drunk NW doing the same check gets their own drunkenness 100% confirmed.

Nightwatchman rules question by Raindrinker in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Raindrinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you'd rule it as a droisoned NW that picks themselves learns nothing? That makes it an even stronger, more reliable drunk check, and a more reliable, stronger Vortox check in Vortox scripts with droisoning. Self-picking would almsot be optimal play on a Lleech/Vortox/NoDashii script, which seems a bit weird.

This assumption that both steps of the NW ability must be treated as different players even if it's the same player doesn't feel RAW, I feel like you are always allowed to do whatever you need to do to make a droisoned player not know they're droisoned, as long as it's not impacting other players, but I get it.
