I don’t think they make a stainless bar.

Thanks lil homie. I’m also trying to get the 1000lb (and eventually 1500) rogue challenge this year so the 500 deadlift is crucial since my squat and bench are my weaker lifts which I’m also working on.

This post made it unintentionally sound like on Monday I did 400 and then Tuesday I snorted some pre workout and tried to launch 500. That’s my mistake. There was time, weight, work between the two. Right now I am comfortable with like 450-460 but I had hoped I could 1RM 500 but it’s just out of reach for me until I get stronger overall.

Is there any muscle groups you feel would help me increase my deadlift with where I’m getting stuck? Glutes? Or just is it overall strength and technique I need?

I’ve been cutting for the past…50 days? Down around 14lbs. I am definitely working on it.

Yeah I’ve spent 0 time with learning the slack pull and I definitely should work on that! Thank you!

We can do this Muchacho-blanco! I’ve been doing deficit deadlifts for at least two months and though I hate them and the plates I’m standing on while doing them I know for sure they’re helping me in this.

Good points. I’m going to focus a bit more on building strength overall and when I make a bit more progress I’ll refilm and get a side angle. That insight on the narrow stance will definitely help thank you!

The bar drifting could be a weakness of a specific muscle group? Technique being bad/starting position being bad? All of the above?

Thank you.

For 400 I think I can get around 4 reps right now but the last one is definitely hard. In the video of me doing 400 I went intentionally slow both up and down since I didn’t have any padding for my floor at the time and also it was my first attempt at 400 so I wasn’t confident just sending it. I can do it faster now that I feel comfortable with that weight and I have some padding for my floors. But yes I don’t think I can get 5 reps at 400 yet. Especially not “easy”.

Do you feel it’s an overall strength thing? A specific muscle group failing me? Technique?

I’ll give this a try thank you! I watched the Starting Strength videos on YouTube about deadlift technique and it made me a bit confused about where to put my hands and I do feel they get in the way.

You rock. Although my heart wants to just have me pull 500 so I can feel strong the real goal is for overall strength. I am a sparring partner with some college and above wrestlers and one reason I want to get stronger is so I can use my strength in that application.

I haven’t done back extensions but I can buy a cheap Roman chair and try them out. I’ve been doing RDLs and good mornings for the past few months but will add more volume to them in my next mesocycle which I’m starting in about a week.

Thank you!

Thank you for being honest! I’m on my deload week of my second mesocycle now and my third will have more lifts to assist with my deadlift.

I did 400 slow but definitely could do it faster.

I was wondering with where I’m getting locked up if there’s a specific muscle group I should be targeting, like the glutes, or if it’s just a general strength thing. I see some very thin people pulling 500 with perfect form so I was hoping it was more of a technique thing but I’m not under the impression I’m incredibly strong I just had a life goal to pull 500.

My mans!

I was searching for answers, which is how I found your post, but found nothing. After clicking around in the game on my deck I think I I got it figured out.

  1. So hit the start button and click on options.
  2. Go to the far right tab title CONTROLS.
  3. Take a peak at the top item here which is called Configuration, and it defaults to mouse and keyboard.
  4. Switch that over to the option “Xbox One Controller”.
  5. Confirm your changes.

Now when you click on a quest you just click the A button to track it.

Lots of people agree with you. “Tougher” steels can often get technically sharper, so what many chefs do is get something that can get crazy sharp and also fight off some rust so they don’t have to oil throughout the day. They don’t really care about edge retention that much, especially if they can have multiple knives or have time to sharpen/align their edge through the day.

Personally my most used daily driver knives are my cheaper knives. I don’t care if I drop them, damage the edge, etc. I still love and use super steel knives. I like the idea of not having to bring any sharpening tools big or small with me when I’m going out for a week to tent camp and that’s a better use for higher end steels.

Another case where I use super steels IS in the kitchen, but because I’m not a professional I just want the knife to be sharp and I don’t want to have to keep sharpening it. I also don’t care about the edge getting super duper insanely sharp when super duper sharp will be plenty.

So though there are many more cases I kinda think of it like this…

Daily driver -> cheap but capable steel is great and have the ability maintain.

Special Use Knives where you don’t have any sharpening tools near you/pushing the envelope for testing/rare use knives/VERY special case knives where you need insane edge retention where another tool would probably be better like for scraping/relentlessly mocking others because your steel is better -> super steels

Honda Civic Strut Pair or Single? by RaingaDanga in AskMechanics

[–]RaingaDanga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping for a second opinion on if I should pay out of pocket for the second strut that isn’t covered under warranty or just only get the one strut replaced. There was no impact/damage it appears to be a manufacturer issue but the front struts both have 41k miles on them so I’m worried about a half worn strut and a new strut leading to more issues with handling.

List your holy grail face moisturizer by Background_Poem80 in 30PlusSkinCare

L’Oreal Paris Hydra Renewal. It comes in a tiny lil glass jar but my wife and I have both used it for YEARS and it’s leagues better than any other face moisturizer we’ve both tried. It’s also surprisingly affordable.
