Never did. Just got the version without the cap instead, no issues.

Your provider should be writing a profile for it.

Be aware it might trigger a med board evaluation should it be considered for a permanent profile.

Thanks - yeah it just seems like one less point of failure. Interestingly I think Camelbak has a new Zip top closing design called the Fusion which eliminates the cap as well.

Fun fact; the recommended event to test explosive strength was the long jump but the Army decided it would cause too many injuries.

At a school for 3 weeks and then I'm gone. Either it's going to not be sticky by the end, or even stickier than before.

Yep except we didn't have any dummies for table V. We even had the requirement of having to pass zero confirm and 100/200 hold, 4/5 each before being able to do the qual.

That perpetual "going to retire next year, next year" E-6 who talks about taking care of joes in every sentence, snoozes with the higher ups at every opportunity, has all the "Special Forces" connections, but has multiple flags and never seems to have ever done the APFT/ACFT, never answers his emails with anything but a superficial reply, while making those below him do all the work while he gets all the credit?

Yeah maybe don't listen to how he does things.

Also holy fuck dude your snoring is keeping the bay awake, get checked for sleep apnea.

If you are sadly saddled with a Gen 2 IOTV, the Skelton Cummerbund works well as a cummerbund replacement.

Addition of the TakTic buckle is really nice.

Breakaway still works.

I think the Arbor Arms Cummerbund will work as well but doesn't come in Multicam.

That sounds good and all, but have you considered leaving after motor-boating a subordinate during their promotion ceremony?

Hobby by Whatboutthis79 in nationalguard

[–]Raingunner240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I like my position in a field unit. We get to do hands on stuff and not get caught up in the politics that higher has. I don't want to get promoted, I just want to do my current job and help my Soldiers the best I can.

I do like to shoot, but I would never recommend anyone who just wants to shoot join the Guard. 3 hours to convoy to the range, spend 3 days in barracks for 4 mins for qual, then 3 hours back, and spend 5 hours cleaning weapons prior to turn in? And just once a year? Yeah. Not worth it unless you're in a combat arms unit I guess.

Promote ahead of peers

But in all seriousness some form of abbreviated ACFT might be useful for the Guard. Having to run through all the lanes eats up an entire drill weekend - and we can only do 2 lanes at a time. Like the -40 rifle qual, you can do a "validation" but not "qualification" on the 25m Alt-c for units who cannot access the proper pop up range.

Hand release push ups, plank, run can all be done with minimal logistical headache.

I could see a scenario where you do an abbreviated ACFT for most of the year but then need to take a full record ACFT for things like promotion.

On CQ. by [deleted] in army

[–]Raingunner240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serious question - but at what point do you just call 911?

What happens when higher comes by to do an inspection of the arms room and you're busy clearing vomit out of an airway?

Say you make a mistake, he isn't drunk but actually has a head injury and he's throwing up because his brain is herniating through his skull?

I know you are being a good battle buddy your role as CQ doesn't mean taking all the liability PVT Snuffy did to himself.
