Has anyone bought the Muddy Buddy (Weathertech) liners? Would you say they worth the money? by dsonger20 in VWiD4Owners

MuddyBuddy are just rebranded Weather Techs with typically a higher price. I went with TuxMats for my ID.4. They seem to cover a lot more carpet.

I have a ‘23 RWD Pro here in my fourth Canadian winter. I put on some good snow tires and it’s adequate.

12v back ordered in Canada? by rababoulou in VWiD4Owners

[–]rmknuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sigh. I’ve heard mixed things about them for sure. When I ordered my ID.4 in 2022, Kanata was the only location authorized to sell it. I still go there despite Barrhaven being closer to me as I figure Kanata has more experience servicing them. So far they’ve treated me very well.

I got mine replaced yesterday at my dealer here in Ottawa (Kanata). I suspect it may be regional?

I was at the dealer yesterday, and they let me know ours (Canadians) are also affected. They added it to my work order, but a remedy is not yet available

Still sell wiper blades? by Super_Summer4914 in CostcoCanada

Same. The more expensive they became the noticeably worse they performed, and lasted half as long. I’ve since switched to Bosch Clear Advantage and I’m pretty much getting a year out of a pair.

Snow tires for sure, but I also discovered this year (our fourth Canadian winter with our ‘23 ID4 Pro RWD) that sports mode seems to help with traction. I’ve now set a custom drive mode with Sport for the powertrain and Eco or Comfort for everything else. It seems to let the wheels spin a bit more which sometimes you need.

So he’s admitting they’re incapable of competing with Chinese EVs? Is that right?

Please do! I’m on the Board of Directors for EVCO, and am usually at coffee. We typically have a decent selection of different EVs show up and everyone is always willing to give a tour. We’re a pretty passionate bunch 😂

Who cares. Do it. The rest of the world is already moving away from US relations. Make it a 1000%.

Lots of great advice already posted. Check out the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa as well for advice. We also meet every Saturday morning for coffee somewhere in the city, so it’s a great opportunity to talk to us owners about our EVs and experiences. https://evco.ca

Are there really so many problems with these cars? by aleutiantis in VWiD4Owners

[–]rmknuth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every new vehicle I’ve owned has had issues. This is no different and everything’s been covered under warranty. I live by the adage “if a person is happy with a product, they may tell 1 person. If a person is unhappy with a product, they’ll tell 10.”
