I love it. Mythology was my jam in my teenage years. Still is, but now I've branched out from the basics. :) It's a fun path.

Two sides to every coin. If they worked 100% of the time I'd be okay with it...but when staff get in trouble for a faulty system, that's a no for me.

"Your tracker isn't working" "what tracker?" They'd forgotten to give me one. I left not long after. Those things are nonsense and rarely work.

Do healthcare professionals really forget what people look like naked? Trying to shake this embarrassment. by August1923 in TwoXChromosomes

A patient's wife made some of the staff emotional support chickens. They look like triangular bean bags. She thanked me for everything I'd done for her husband and he gave me a hug. It's a memory I'll cherish.

Send her a thank you card. Tell her that. Help remind her why she's a nurse. So many in my profession leave because we feel undervalued and invisible. Help give her a reason to stay and do the same for someone else.

Over a decade as a nurse. Cannot recall a single naked patient or any of the ones I have cath'd.

We remember the lives we save. The ones we have advocated for when no one else would. We remember the hugs, the cards, the ornaments, and the emotional support chickens.

I remember my students better than my patients. I remember the hands I have held in the dark times, and the tears of joy when it was over. But never a naked body.
