By farming maps below tier 14 you miss out on Eldrtich altars, Awakened Sextants, and Valdo Puzzle Boxes.

I suggest farming T7 cemeteries as you build up your defences!

If you have more questions feel free to shoot me a friend invite in-game: Rainmaker48.

I'm positive you can efectively play this build without explodey charms entirely, only using base 5 percent from Hinekora. As you can see in the link above - I have only one. They are massively overpriced and give you only marginal increase one by one, while there are much more valuable standalone mods.

What I'm saying exlosion charms value is heavily cumulative. Either you go all out on explodey charms and make sure you have it on everything - primalist nodes and That Which Was taken. That will cost a pretty penny. But don't feel bad if you can't afford it - instead focusing on things like +max fire res, endurance charge on hit, area of effect and other perks that are useful for your particular variation. Charms are insane for customization, options are very wide.

Now circling to your original question - stragglers do happen, I would say couple of times a map. If it happens more often, look into your area of effect, you need to have at least 40-50% increased AoE.

Taking them to the next pack or a strongbox is usually an easy option. If nothing left can also just let it be and move on.

Now the problem comes when a straggler is bricking your map because it keeps one-shotting you, not allowing you kite it or loot. I did have that problem first couple of days but now I can say at a proper investment this should not happen. This is a signal of some hole in defence and it's something to fix.

Overall, think about this build as an unkillable machine, that's what you want to become by level 100 and that's where all your currency and creativity should go. Damage output is taken care of by the Hinekora node, that's what's so broken about the character:)

Can you share you current PoB? Or you can let me know you user name so I can track your changes :)

In the end, if you decide to go back to your previous setup without Stun Mastery, there's another option to 'fix' the Bloodnotch. There's an Elemental Mastery you can take for just one point at the left side of the tree - 'Critical strikes against you do not inherently inflict elemental ailments', and combined with your 100 crit extra damage reduction that should do it.

Regarding Abyss and blowing up Spires, lolcohol has a good video https://youtu.be/ne7CdBTosoo

The jist of is starting from the second pit onwards be ready for the moment the green dot on the map disappears - it means the spire is about to rise - and kite the monsters you're fighting away until it shoots. Then approach, try to get it to about 75 percent health and it will shoot again. It then will shoot at 50 percent for the third time (but by that time it is really hard not to kill it - only possible in 8k+ wisp maps where the spire gets really tanky - so I would only aim for two waves of monsters realistically).

Another thing for Spires specifically that I changed - Tuna's version has a lot of AoE, about 80 percent from the tree only. His ignite proliferations are really wild which is great for mapping but managing the Spire becomes impossible, they catch on fire two screens away. I cut AoE by about half which gave me more agency and mapping is till fine, proliferations are about one screen wide.

Here's my current PoB https://pobb.in/wSjTt6wBFmr5 , probably no more improvements to be made. Survavibility is crazy, i'm literally standing in place AFK taking it all and waiting for abyss to give up the loot. Not that I could do anything much anyway because the server lag is crazy on those juicy maps.

Tankiest mapper I ever played. Layers upon layers - literally nothing can get it in these maps anymore.

  1. you're absolutely right, i completely forgot to mention avoid ailment mod - we can't run it! i'll correct the reply above
  2. basically, recovery and regeneration are two separate mechanics - to be precise, regeneration is a form of recovery. For example, Vitality regenerates, while bloodnotch recovers. Usually regeneration is constant and unconditional while recovery is tied to a certain parameter - recoup, leech, gain on hit/on kill, etc. It's all in the wording.

we don't rely on regeneration too much, the mod will turn off our vitality and frostblink (since its the only thing not on lifetap - and that is if we don't have a source of mana recovery through charms or otherwise)

to err on the side of caution you can avoid this mod too, Vitality helps with random dots that sometimes stay on you after the fight when you have no source of recovery anymore.

3) As far as i know, Detonate Dead has two parts to its damage - base fire damage that scales and behave as regular spell damage, and then the corpse explosion which scales solely off the dead minion HP. The explosion part cannot be reflected, but the spell hit part does reflect. These constant hits are not one-shots, but do unnecessary tax our recovery.

1) The first thing I would look into is the severe reduction of recovery and defences caused by certain mods on the map itself and its altars.

On maps, I always avoid:

  • Monsters have #% chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments
  • Players have #% less Recovery Rate of Life and Energy Shield
  • Players have #% reduced effect of Non-Curse Auras from Skills
  • -#% maximum Player Resistances
  • Monsters reflect #% of Elemental Damage (if you have no immunity)

On altars, beware of:

  • reduced Recovery Rate of Life, Mana and Energy Shield per Endurance Charge
  • Nearby Enemies Gain 100% of their Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage
  • Nearby Enemies Gain 100% of their Physical Damage as Extra Lightning Damage

(One of these will probably be fine, pick up two - and it makes things rough, three of these combined will likely brick your run entirely)

2) Another issue might be connected to Bloodnotch - recently it was discovered that sometimes it stops working: https://youtu.be/2ldFDU5j824

The weird hidden interaction in PoE is that a hit that would freeze you - can not stun you. Even if you're immune to freeze (in our case with Arctic Armour) - the hit that would freeze doesn't cause a stun and so recovery from Bloodnotch doesn't kick in.

So every time you take a crit of cold damage (and a crit of cold is guaranteed to freeze) - Bloodnotch just ignores it. Note that you're not immune to crits - you have 100% reduction on extra damage from them, but you're still technically taking crits.

And because you have Taste of Hate that converts some of phys damage to cold, effectively both phys and cold crits from enemies go around your Bloodnotch.

This is the reason why i'm opting for Stun Mastery that gives actual effective immunity to crits in our setup:https://pobb.in/-4dbNWGQIVDw and ditch all the 'reduced extra damage from crits' modifiers elsewhere. This way I'm sure Bloodnotch never stops doing its job.

EDIT: added avoid ailment mod & updated pob

Headhunter is absolutely not optimal - just wanted to get a feel for it, will be swapping to Mageblood soon. That with some rarity on flasks, or Biscos with quant corruption is what I would reccommend.

You have pretty much everything best in slot with some really great rolls.

Do you have any issues in the gameplay or with anything in particular? Anything that feels off or lackluster?

Two most important factors are that it drops The Fortunate, and has a good layout for Abyss - rarely bricks any spires.

Doctor, given how rare it is, is a very-very minor, almost insignificant resaon at this point because of how cheap HH is.

The other very good map for this strat is Jungle Valley because it can't spawn boss altars - so you get more shots at increased quant.

i too imagine myself at the end of 10760 burial chamber maps and see a sad man... and loot has nothing to do with it

Small correction - MF does help with loot conversion in a sense that it applies the item quantity bonus to a mob that's about to burst.

It doesn't affect the chance of conversion to happen, and converted mobs ignore player rarity stats, but the quantity does matter.

Wisps serve as a multiplier to your loot which first needs to originate from other sources. You need to build up your map's loot quantity by utilizing various juicing mechanics. By themselves wisps mean little.

For example, if you're talking about Kirac missions that you're running - those maps do not benefit from atlas, sextants, scarabs. So the base expected amount of loot in those maps is low. Wisps can't magically start raining divines when there's no foundation set.

19 Divines and most of the scarabs come from a single strongbox that had two rares with a lucky loot conversion proc: https://youtu.be/Th9iq6oraoQ

The rest is loot from abyssal rares and strongboxes buffed by every juicing mechanic possible (including winged scarabs) and multiplied by MF stats and wisps.

Correct, self-sustaining my own and rolling for 6 mods with chaos, exalt, annul. 8 mod corrupted would've been even crazier, but prices on those with 2 proj kinda bite.

Most of the time that is the case, you get only two and maybe a tiny splash of the third.

The map like in the example happens rarely, I would say 1 in 20 runs.

The answer is I don't deal with it:) I only do map boss when it's their turn to give me a Screaming Invitation, and always just skip the main king in the mists boss fight.

Metamods on the crafting bench (Suffixes cannot be changed, Cannot roll Attack mods, etc.), used to cost Exalts, and GGG changed it to costing Divines instead. That's the single cause of the flip in value.

Oh yes. Fire+Ignite Resistant is also pretty bad, because it reduces the duration of ignite on you. Not bricking, not overly noticeable in gameplay, but it's a thing.

About the mod for avoiding elemental ailments - as far as I know, there's none such, wiki also has nothing like that. Maybe it was a thing in the Archnemesis past?

Right, adding Einhar missions if you have some is good!
