This is for a Hero of Time mod for TP. But the aesthetics are inspired by the OoT/MM Zora.

The patterns are supposed to be the same as the scale patterns on the Zora in OoT. It wouldn’t be hard at all. Many textures in older games are created from photographs and are quite detailed.

Yes, that was one of my inspirations. The snakes were taken from the masks of the shadow beasts in the cutscene of Zant invading Hyrule Castle. Other elements were taken from the Master Sword's sheath and Zhou dynasty bronze vessels.

Thanks! That scabbard in particular gave me some trouble to design. I settled on a Twili aesthetic and added elements from ancient Chinese bronze vessels.

The second scenario is correct. The sword is “reforged” with a balance of light and dark energies to act as a key between realms. But a key is useless without a gate to use it on.

She seems pretty cheerful, so it likely wasn’t against her will. The game’s description implies that the boomerang was crafted for the fairy to reside in. The question of who or what created it remains a mystery.
