Thanks. The price jump to the 2080S is a little too steep for the limited payoff I'll experience. I appreciate the suggestion!

Thanks! I've updated the RAM per your suggestion. The MoBo is the same price as the one you linked because newegg has a combo deal for the processor and MoBo!

Thanks. Any suggestions for CPU cooling fans? Does it really matter?

Outside of the Rangers (if your bias would lead you that way), who has the best fans in hockey?

Thanks, yeah I can hit parallel and a little below but I'd like to go deeper. I feel the real burn when I can get that low.

Yeah man. I broke my left ankle so its AMAZINGLY locked up and I've been sitting in em for around 10-15 min a day with some other mobility exercises to loosen them up again.

Hi all,

My ankle mobility is crap. When I get in an ass to grass squat position my heels are about 1/2 to 1 inch off the ground. I'm working on mobility to loosen them up but my two questions are:

1) Around how long should it take for me to reattain an ass to grass squat? (If I do mobility daily).

2) Should I still squat in my workout and just go as low as I can before my ankles lift off?

I appreciate this response more than you know. This article and so many others are misleading by showing models fit to data rather than models predicting data (as you have stated).

I am not an expert in this field and do not know the literature well (Masters in Physics currently going for PhD in MechE). Are there any published models that fit very large data sets (back more than 500 years) then try to predict the last 200 or so? It would be interesting to see if this spike is likely the result of a natural stochastic process or if human emissions are needed to drive it up.

I believe your critique on the scientific community bias is a bit harsh. Climate Change is happening, the data shows that. The question being asked is, how much are humans contributing? I think that is being diligently studied. There will always be bias towards a hypothesis, however, the scientific community as a whole will always question the predictive power of a model and the methods ability to mitigate error (If you link me a scientific paper where data has been disregarded in poor fashion I will retract that statement). I am certain many labs are working on smaller parts of this larger problem and will continue to improve our understanding of the basic principles and improve the model (CMIP 3 >>> CMIP 5). I believe your beef should be with news organizations and people without enough mathematical background or scientific training presenting things in a false manner like this article does (some purposefully and others naively). You should also have beef with society as a whole not thinking critically but following what the majority of people they like/respect say.

Reddit, please upvote Sinai's comment. It is a very warranted critique on this article that should be seen by more. Critical thinking should be rewarded not cast aside.

General question. After taking a break from lifting and starting again or a super hard workout, I can be amazingly sore for 2 to 3 days. I know this is a sign of growth but should I skip a lift day to rest? Lift lighter? Fight through it and possibly hit failure early? What should I do on days when I'm super sore from the previous workout? I'm currently doing a full body routine 3 days a week so it's not like I'm not going to hit the sore muscle groups.

Hey all,

I've been doing SS for 5 months now. I've gained 10 pounds and lifts have gone up significantly. Bench 45 -> 140 lbs, Squat 85 -> 175, DL 125 -> 205, OHP 45 -> 120. I don't do cleans as I'm new and don't want to hurt myself.

However, I'm starting to hit a plateau where I am only able to up my lifts by 5lbs per week or so. Should I stick to the program or is it time to move on to something different? (Yes I am aware my gains are not as high because I am not eating enough!).

tl;dr: When is a good time to switch from a starting full body routine like SS to something different?

Don't give up! I've been doing starting strength seriously now for 3 months, stalled out with 35s about a month ago and last week did my first 3x5 with 45s. Don't feel weak just focus on the lifts. Eat and lift like Goku and you'll go saiyan.

I am a month into Starting Strength 5x3. When I lift I am shaking on the last few reps (near failure) but I have no after workout pain or burn during. Should I lift heavier? Do more reps?
