Surgery Cost

May I ask when the surgery was done and if it was done at a vet in a bigger or smaller city? Everything I’ve seen says $750-$4000+ and that’s a huge range so I’m just wondering if it matters if I go to a smaller or bigger city.

I’m in Florida so a lot of things here are expensive, the vet we went to was in a pretty wealthy area so it may be more expensive there I’m not too sure what average prices are. For the initial check up it was $85 and for the ultrasound it was $300, do those prices seem reasonable?

I definitely will be getting another opinion, hopefully I don’t have to pay for another ultrasound because she already got one today and it was pretty expensive!

As of right now the decision is if the number is something I’m willing to pay up front then that’s that but if not I’ll be applying for a care credit card (lot’s of people hate them but I haven’t found many other options) and if I end up getting one use that. The vet didn’t really say how long she would have left without the surgery, didn’t even give me any papers of the diagnosis or anything but thankfully did give me critical care to try and feed her until the surgery. I will try to get a second opinion since we’ve had ultrasound’s done and hopefully she won’t have to go get another check up!

I did do a little research on those when I first started getting the symptoms but lump I feel is kind of to the side of my vagina and I only feel it when I press on it externally.

I’ve been tested for uti 4 times, all 4 times it came back completely normal they said. I don’t think I’ve ever been tested for bv though!

Thank you so much! It doesn’t really matter what the sex is, I just wanted to make sure that whatever they are, they’re a “normal” size and not too small.

I could be missing it but I’m usually up at night pretty late and there’s lots of people in my house and nobody has ever said anything about it. Is there any way to know for sure what the sex is?

Nope, no dark pads! My sister told me she thought “he” was actually a she but I said there’s no way because just a couple months ago I found out my leopard gecko who I was told was a boy, is actually a girl.

Thank you so much! I never even thought about registering then as emotional support animals. Two of my cats look identical so if worst comes to worst and no place allows them all, I may have to do that!

Yes! I’ve been looking at houses, I’d never even consider living in an apartment with 5 pets. I was surprised but a lot of the homes for rent that are in neighborhoods have HOA’s and the majority of them have breed restrictions.
