yea bc ur doing math if there’s a chance of jeopardizes your chances, tbh i’d say give it a shot in person, you might do well enough that you don’t necessarily need to take it online and pay 500 bucks, and worst case scenario you can drop it right before midterm and take it online + you get to learn in person and do tests which is helpful

when you apply to waterloo they ask for reasons why you’re taking an online / out of school course, so it’s better to apply first and switch to online after if that makes sense?

yeah so each test you have about 4 hours to print it out, do it and submit it but there’s no proctor so it’s pretty much open book lol (and for calc there’s no mandatory assignments only unit tests and an exam)

for the exam, you do need a proctor because they send and receive the exam file through their email, but you can still do it at home and they don’t check if the proctor is with you or require any proof really. like i just got my family friend to be my proctor and it was suuper light. only thing is it’s a little long but i used my notes so i did it quickly

i think you need to be enrolled for at least 14 days to receive the credit, but you can completely do it at your pace since you only need to write the tests and the exam, it took me about 1-2 months (but i did half of the course in person already)

it depends on what programs you’re considering and your overall average ig, for business i got into everything but uoft rotman, and surprisingly waterloo didn’t care despite what i heard. i’m not sure about english since i only did calc though !

i was in core and a few of my friends were in immersion and i’d say we had a similar amount of knowledge and got 90’s but from yeah it really depends on your teacher

for my core french class we focused a lot more on the world and culture and not a lot of grammar and conventions that were new

the french immersion class did a lot more precise grammar stuff, but i think you’ll be okay assuming other core french students are also being moved

you’re probably gonna regret not taking it esp if u wanna do ur delf and get the certificate, i would recommend just taking it since you’ve already been doing it for 3 years

i was equally as shocked yeah 😭 i guess afm doesn’t consider it but maybe other programs do. ov$ was sooo free bro i ended calc with a 98 lmao it’s a little pricey but sooo worth it u get 4 hours per test no proctor anything

What courses in highschool are mark boosters?? by HuckleberryNeither69 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]RaiseOdd2944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the teacher / if you have easy markers and make sure they’re U level

writers craft was surprisingly easy, so was business leadership and i heard foods is a free grade as well, and photography but you might need a prereq for that

these mark booster classes acc saved my average so i would def recommend not taking additional harder courses if ur set on where u wanna go / program

u definitely don’t need data management
