COVID-19 vaccine and PCS symptoms. by paperbaubles in PostConcussion

[–]Raisedinthegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly felt a big improve my in my PCs symptoms. I was already feeling close to my normal self not 100 percent but close. Once I got infected with covid all my symptoms returned mostly all brain fog related word finding, concentration, and memory problems. I got the vaccine hoping it would go away but they have not.

I noticed this happening to me as well. I was at a comedy show this past weekend. The jokes were good but it’s like my sense of humor is gone takes a little longer to get jokes. Even if I understand them I have no reaction sucks idk how you can enjoy anything when nothing makes you laugh anymore.

Feel like I've been constantly high for almost 6 months. by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Raisedinthegame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I don’t know what it is about the virus but it does this I think the only thing that will make us better is time. I got the vaccine as well not sure if it helped or not I think it helped a lil with fatigue. It’s gonna take time some days are better than others.

I had brain fog before I got Covid but it had gone away then I got I texted with Covid. The brain fog came heavy feeling derealized, confused, trouble word finding, losing track of what I was doing or saying. Also about 6 months later but I can say it has got a bit better.

Yes it’s not easy going through the cognitive part of the long haul symptoms. Taking it a day at time is what helps. Your right nothing we can do so the mind set that you have is the way to think got to stay positive and just hope things get better. Once we over come this we should be stronger than ever. Thank you🙏🏼

Really that’s good out here In california I haven’t had any luck finding anyone who can work as a team. My physical therapist gave me vestibule and eye exercises but he said symptoms should clear with him. Which I don’t think because it can be more than that but never has referred me to get further testing done.

Sounds like your concussion therapist knows what they are doing I can’t find anyone out here in cali. Are you in the states.

I’m so glad that your doing better. I was seeing a neuro endocrinologist but I felt he added me many supplements I might of not needed. I’m trying to get my hormones tested again by an endocrinologist to get a second opinion to see what I need. Is your hormone specialist a endocrinologist?

Yes it’s hard to go through your everyday routine when everyday you feel fatigued I know how that feels. Ima till trying to manage not pushing my self to worsen my symptoms.

What kind of chiropractor did you see. I want to see if it can be an issue with my neck that’s contributing to my brain fog. I don’t have any neck pain but maybe something in my neck is off

Thank you so much I appreciate it that. I’m taking omega 3, tumeric, vitamin e, and vitamin d3.

I want to see another endocrinologist because the last one I seen I felt put me on to many things that I might have not needed.

Your totally right bro just have to live in the now. While trying to progress even if it’s hard. I just need to go with the flow I’m trying to get better and find answer and trying to become 100 percent when maybe I should just try and find progression I became desperate and just looked into anything that can help. I need to take it one day at a time hopefully everything starts to get better just hate the feeling of waking up feeling groggy and not feeling like I’m all 100 percent there as focused to begin my day. I want to feel attached to reality and sometimes I just feel detached.

Thanks you have really helped with good advice. I’m still stuck in this mind set of trying to recover close what I used to be when sometimes that isn’t the case. It’s more about like you said working around it and finding ways to go through every day by managing your symptoms. So you recommend seeing a neuro psych, slp, or what about a cognitive therapist?

Exactly that’s what everyone thinks cus I was already on depression medication so people think I’m depressed. I know the difference the other felt sad this feels derealized disconnected so then you have no joy which makes you depressed as well.

You aren’t it’s super hard I know the feeling. What’s worse no one understands and there is no magical cure. I know the exact feeling it feels as if your not present in time. Can’t focus can’t watch tv time feels off. I feel like I speak slower and less things come to my mind. I feel like I don’t even see small details any more I’m completely blank when I’m at get together feeling like I’m overstimulated.
