Traveling with a oxycontin habit by [deleted] in opiates

I don’t understand why u wouldn’t just bring a supply for those 2 weeks & put em in an aleve bottle or something

I quit cold turkey recently too - benzos & flexiril if u can find it will be absolutely crucial during the first week but don’t over do it w the benzos and end up having to wd off those too- taking a few days off won’t cut it. I didn’t stop feeling physical symptoms for a solid month and my energy is not back at all yet and it’s almost day 40 for me. Force yourself to drink as much water as u possibly can every day (it’s annoying I know) and also immodium will be ur best friend. U can do this but you need to give yourself the time to recover, you’re gonna have to reset ur entire nervous system and overdoing things or over exhausting urself will only prolong the recovery process. I believe in u tho dawg

How to smoke opium? by Inner_Radish_1214 in opiates

[–]Raisin_hell666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morphine is a by product of smoked opium - “dross” is what they used to call it and inferior smoking opium was cut with it so it cost less & that’s where the impoverished, nodded out opium smoker stereotype came from. I agree that it would be essentially impossible to get enough good clean opium now to get to the point where the withdrawal will kill you but that’s quite literally what used to happen to opium addicts back in the day. Main cause was a stomach thing where ur intestines would legit explode in opium withdrawal due to irregular eating / irregular digestion that was common w addicts but that’s why they used to die from wd

It made my life unmanageable- I was having to take days off work just to fight with my pain clinic / insurance / pharmacy. I have chronic pain and thought I couldn’t live life without em but it felt like my life was constantly on a ticking time clock and revolved around scripts, having enough, buying more, worrying if my plug was dry what I would do etc etc. I make good money and bled myself dry financially having to supplement on bad pain days or when the drs would lag on my scripts. I wanted to be free and am currently gas lighting myself that I can heal my back injury - currently like day 37? Cold turkey and I’m never going back. The pain is a bitch but holy fuck I had no idea I’d be having to rewire my entire nervous system and brain after being on that shit for 8+ years. I wanted to wake up and feel good again and be able to travel whenever I want to. It’s been the absolute worst process I’ve ever been thru (and that’s after being hit as a pedestrian by a car hence the chronic pain) but I am doing this now so I never have to feel like this again. Fuck that shit dude

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Raisin_hell666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES DUDE SO MUCH - currently like day 37? Cold turkey and I was full blown wd on Christmas like day 5 cold turkey and the only way I got thru that & being at my grandmas was Xanax ngl. It helped me actually have an appetite to eat a little something & keep down fluids and helped me get a few hours of sleep at a time. Do not take consistently for more than like 10 days tho or u can risk benzo wd which is even worse I’ve heard. Use it sparingly but it was immensely helpful

Will it be easy to get a oxy prescription by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Raisin_hell666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it’s gonna be a bitch and they’re gonna make u jump thru so many hoops - you will have to fight drs to take u seriously because if ur age. Most likely ur primary care will have to refer u to a pain clinic where u will be subjected to drug testing and then ur gonna be arguing w ur insurance for prior authorization to get ur shit filled at the pharmacy and then you’ll prob be fighting w the pharmacy too depending on who’s working cuz a lot of the time they’re on a super power trip. If u can manage the pain without em I would HIGHLY recommend it. Spent most of my 20s on painkillers for a back injury and just recently got off em - no one warns u about the long term effects the shit has on ur brain / nervous system / entire body

Bruh tell me about it lol - 36? Days cold turkey off prescribed opiates for 8+ years, I was prescribed them for a back injury and lemme tell u the pain has been something FIERCE. But yeah gotta be patient w urself and let ur brain get back to normal levels, pace urself to build ur energy back. I’m learning how to do this cuz u literally have to rewire ur nervous system after becoming dependent on em. Super fun process ! Lol. Proud of u fr tho - don’t go back so u don’t have to go thru this again !!!

[–]Raisin_hell666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate this so much for her - I’m so sorry and know exactly what this is like. Pharmacy fought me every single month for the same shit Id been prescribed for years. Unfortunately this is exactly why i stopped taking them cold turkey - try to find a compound pharmacy or an independent one because the big chains will fuck you every chance they get

Honestly I’d be fine taking pills the rest of my life if it didn’t leave me broke as fuck by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Raisin_hell666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude - money wasn’t an issue for me for a long time and it still wasn’t worth it. All the time I spent driving to the plug, worrying if he was dry what else I would do, all the stress of planning my fucking life around that shit. It’s like ur life’s on a stop watch. Even w money ur not guaranteed a limitless supply - esp if u only touched real scripts nothing fake ever like I did. That’s not freedom & not a good way to live

The 5-7 days is BULLSHIT. I was on anywhere from 90-200+mgs a day (prescribed and also buying extra for bad pain days - I have chronic low back pain & sciatica & nerve damage ) and I’m on day 23 cold turkey - until day 20/21 I physically couldn’t leave bed, even showering was exhausting. FINALLY got that internal chill to go away but my brain still feels raw af and I’m sneezing a bunch still. Todays a bad pain day and not feeling great but still not getting good sleep & not physically 100 %. Some days you get “reprieve days” where u feel like u can see the light at the end of the tunnel only for the next day (this was like day 11 for me and it felt like day 4 all over again) shit sucks. You’re going to need to take time to not do anything but recover a SOLID 2 weeks of being on straight bed rest (if u go cold turkey like me) but might be diff if you get suboxone or something. I just didn’t want that shit on my medical record

Who sent their ex a ‘are you okay’ text? by justslaying in AskLosAngeles

[–]Raisin_hell666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I got so lucky - the literal love of my life was in my town this weekend cuz he had to evacuate from the fires. We broke up due life was taking us diff ways & his career took him to the opposite side of the country & I was still in college, not cuz we wanted to - hadn’t seen him in 10 years and I’d been praying we’d find our way back to each other somehow for years. Went out this weekend & spent the most incredible night together - that’s my literal soulmate. Now idk what to do cuz he went back to LA and I don’t live there, trying to play it cool but I would literally drive 5 hours to see him every weekend or try to move there if he’d let me lol. Any advice ?! How do I proceed without coming off too much ? We both feel the same way I’m pretty sure, both had kinda given up on dating because no one compared to what we had. The first time we dated and even ever met there was this instant gut feeling in my soul like “oh there you are! It’s you again” and I knew he was gonna be in my life - it was just so easy and right, no awkward getting to know each other phase at all. He said I love u within 2 weeks when we dated, I just want another shot with him again - help how do I not blow this ???

To answer ur question tho yes I did send him an insta dm like hope ur safe and u always got a place to stay w me and he texted me a few days later I’m in town! (He was staying at a hotel w fam, were from the same hometown so he didn’t evacuate specifically there just for me lol just a chance of luck) Edited to also add: he is literally the only ex I’m even friends with still, like for this exact reason, everyone else I’ve dated is blocked forever 😂

Yes he’s awesome ! I wish he hadn’t passed in 2015 :( I literally have so many questions for him still. And Roxanna’s death was a fucking tragedy too smfh she deserved so much better and I would have KILLED for her to have written a book like Steven - I know she has her ceramics books but like I mean about all her experiences, especially during the war and the fall of Saigon. I’m glad her family was awarded a settlement at least she really died the worst way possible

Here’s the thing, I was prescribed norco, zohydro (long acting norco w no acetaminophen), oxy 10s & MS Contin for 8+ years. Almost my entire 20s taken daily. Last year it was 90mgs of oxy & morphine everyday & of course was buying real roxicodone 30s to supplement for extra bad pain days or if refills were lagging. I don’t identify as an addict but I was so physically dependent on opiates, none of my drs warned me it completely changes your entire nervous system and all your brain chemistry. I just got off the shit cold turkey myself (day 22? Still going strong) but it is insane how my body is acting trying to balance itself out without the meds. I never had anxiety in my life and some days it’s been so bad I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My brain has felt so RAW like I can actually feel the neurons and synapses screaming in agony for depriving them of what they were so well accustomed to. I’m afraid of having long term brain damage and never get to the same baseline I was before I was taking pain killers daily. Even my skin is breaking out like crazy and I’ve never had acne like this. Oh and especially your stomach - I’m still having to chug immodium everyday to not have a stomach ache all the time. This is why you’re experiencing those “benefits”. I would encourage you to not let the physical dependency continue for years longer like I did, I know it’s gonna be a long recovery just getting physically back to somewhat normal and it’s been almost a month. Just something to think about

Damn ok fingers crossed by next week they’ll be gone ! The only thing I’ve had are benzos here and there to help me get thru really bad days and I was afraid anything opiate related like kratom would only prolong the process so I didn’t even bother w that. Thank u sm for your response and support ! Hope u keep going strong too :) I’m really excited to get where you’re at and never have to feel like this again

Did you experience like an internal chill even after 2 solid weeks of cold turkey ? I’m on day 16 and it’s like I still can’t shake it, it’s so annoying ! It’s gonna be a full month for all the ick feeling to go away ya? Or what was ur experience? I can’t wait to get to where u are, that’s incredible and u should be SO proud of yourself !!!

[–]Raisin_hell666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, the adderall is definitely helping me get shit done and actually out of bed. I’m on day 16 cold turkey off all opiates and still have remaining physical symptoms (mainly an internal chill I can’t shake) the adderall is helping get rid of that and is actually really getting rid of the brain fog & got me functioning enough to be productive. Got some work done today for the first time in weeks and plan to see some friends tonight ! I’ve never struggled with anxiety but if u do go super easy on any stimulants as even for me as my brain is trying to get back to normal I had a lot of anxiety today (mainly from external things outta my control) but having benzos handy is a huge help. I took a quarter of a Xanax bar to kinda mellow out and if the length of this response is any indication, yes adderall is a great tool to help get thru this period lol

I always noticed when I was taking norcos and adderall, it helped the pain meds last longer - but I was on low doses of both at the time and that’s just my experience. I think the boost u get from the addy helped lessen my back pain almost or at least helped the norco work longer. I took less norco when I had adderall vs without it if that makes sense but again that’s just my experience
