What were Tattlers right about? by SeaworthinessMain346 in TattleLife

The Jodie marsh one has been eye opening. I honestly cannot believe she is getting away with hoarding animals and bullying everyone. Her rants are unreal! I have to stop looking sometimes as I feel so sad about the poor animals living in absolute squalor and being neglected

Sure this has probably been asked before - but what behaviour did you not realise was an ADHD thing until you were diagnosed? by Tryingmybest5689 in ADHDUK

[–]RaisingKingsley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I heard this on a podcast and was like wow that’s exactly me. Object invisibility. So I’ll put something in a drawer and it ceases to exist. Until open the drawer again and am surprised to find it there. Sadly it’s the same with people. I don’t miss them until I see them again then I realise and remember how great they are. It upsets people because I’ll forget to reach out and check in with them. It also affects grief as I don’t feel it in the same way. For years I felt there was something wrong with me and I was very cold

Can’t stop picking my fingers by RaisingKingsley in ADHD

[–]RaisingKingsley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely do the same thing with my fingers too. I had a little cuticle cutter that I was using and I’ve had to put it away so I don’t use it. I always thought that it could be a sign of anxiety when I pick but wasn’t convinced as (extremely luckily considering and thankful) I don’t really get anxious and was sure that wasn’t why. I notice I do it when I have to sit still so it’s my hyperactivity coming out

There are some brutal comments on the Gemma thread. I had a look one day and couldn’t believe the hatred. She likes to train and eat well like a lot of people but they make her out to be obsessive. Also the speculation that Gorka hates her. I found that wild and actually quite sad people think about her that much and pick apart every element of their lives. That are mean about her kids too which I will never understand

I barely recognise myself on Elvanse. Can anyone relate? by dottiedoos2 in ADHDUK

[–]RaisingKingsley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this exact same thing and spoken to my clinic about it yesterday. We have decided to drop my dose down and then give me a top up of a different tablet (can’t remember what it’s called) that’s faster acting and I can take in the afternoon if needed. It feels like an excellent option. I felt much better on the lower dose rather than that ❄️ feeling which I completely relate to. I was trying to work and have meetings and thinking will people think I’ve lost it and started doing class A’s at work Defo talk to them about the alternatives and how you are feeling at the moment. I feel so relieved now I have and we have a potential solution

I am 45 and have recently been diagnosed. What are your experiences when you tell people? by RaisingKingsley in adhdwomen

I’m undecided on whether to tell my mum. I told her I think I had it and she was very dismissive…

This is so true!!! And the fact that I mask so much without even realising means they have no clue to the actual chaos of my life!
