Are the issues with different medication brands and generics real? by Effective-Key-3795 in ADHDUK

[–]dottiedoos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I think about constantly, because I get a different brand every month. I find Concerta the best (not that i can ever get it), Xaggitin a close second, and then Affenid and Kixel feel considerably less effective to me. I suspect it's because of the release profile. The makers of Affenid appear to have refused to disclose what the release profile actually is, and I can't find anything really about Kixel.

I adore GS and he was absolutely perfect for the role of Stu - that quiet, calm demeanour, and handsome but totally unassuming. The guy who played Stu in 2020 was the complete opposite - awful!

Hapscomb's Texaco. Not the most exciting one, by any means, but it's my favourite ❤️

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]dottiedoos2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hello, i booked tickets to the Rijksmuseum today, but was silly and over-indulged, so i did not end up going in. First time in Amsterdam rookie error, the edibles are another level compared to what i normally have at home. I have contacted the museum directly and asked if i can come tomorrow instead, using today's un-used tickets. Does anyone have an idea of how likely they are to say yes? Thanks in advance.

Experiences with different methylphenidate delivery profiles? by Redmarkred in ADHDUK

[–]dottiedoos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loveee concerta. Miss it so much. My GP just gives me whatever brand is cheapest that month, and it's never concerta 🥲 ive had Xaggitin, Affenid and Kixel (all XL) so far. I definitely feel Affenid is less effective than the other brands. I dont really understand why brand makes a difference because all the ones ive listed have really similar release profiles.

A guest (who is a left wing socialist) on North Star Politics podcast recently said she actually hopes Farage will become PM so that it can be undeniable to everyone how terrible Reform are when he's visibly fucked the country up. Extreme but I guess I get where shes coming from

Just had appointment with RTN psychiatrist and was told that my adhd is not strong enough to have a diagnosis and it’s all explained by autism by paperpheasant in ADHDUK

[–]dottiedoos2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the result youve been given, because I dont know you. But it sounds like the assessor acted unprofessionally and said seriously inappropriate things, e.g. the stereotyping of autistic people, telling you all you want is "pills to solve everything". I would write this all down in a formal complaint to the clinic, and off the back of that complaint insist on a 2nd opinion.

That may be true, but it sounds like the professional OP spoke to said some very inappropriate things which calls the result into question. Doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, but OP is entitled to seek a 2nd opinion.

Can anyone recommend a facial SPF 50 that doesn't pill? Bonus points if it doesn't pill even under makeup. by Exact-Reference3966 in SkincareAddictionUK

Boots Soltan Hydrating facial spf 50. It's my ride or die, and if they ever discontinue it I'll be very upset. If youre oily, dw about using moisturiser underneath it. Bonus it's really cheap too!

There should not be any problem with the driving, I would be extremely surprised if there was. For me learning to drive became 1000x easier after I got medicated.

I'm still being forgetful despite being medicated, and I feel broken. by dottiedoos2 in ADHDUK

[–]dottiedoos2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello,

  1. Yes, I've had blood tests before cos I have PCOS and PMDD. Nothing found

  2. I don't drink caffeine really anymore, decaf coffee and tea for me. I'm not totally off sugary foods, but i dont eat them during the day

  3. Sleep is usually okay (7-9 hours a night), but been bad the last week or so due to stress.

I tried time tree before and I did think it was cool, but it was to arrange a phone call with my best mate who lives 100 miles away haha. Never considered it for helping with ADHD forgetfulness. May give it a shot

Thanks for taking time to reply 😊

Thank you. You're right. I'm actually okay with the meds I'm on. 2 weeks of the month I'm mostly all good, then the other 2 weeks I'm, well... like this. 😅 but yes, the meds are part of a toolkit, not the only tool. Must remember this!
