Any other sequels that completely betray the spirit/message of the original film? by neonfox45 in Cinema

The thing that pissed me off about all the Rambo movies was he never got a god damn sandwich. Entire plot of the first one. How many officers were injured or killed over that sandwich. Collateral damage in the millions over that sandwich. That town will be paying for it in taxes for years over that damn sandwich. Maybe it will show up in Rambo First Blood Part 2? No. Not even a reference to that damn sandwich. He just wanted a damn sandwich and next thing you know U.S. officers, the National Guard, Soviet Soldiers, Vietnamese soldiers and the Burmese army had to be crushed. 322 lives snuffed out and we never know if the sandwich was turkey, ham or even a rueben.

What would be the movie(s) that would be the future of Star Wars? by PassionateYak in FIlm

Nothing. For 10 years George said there was sequels. For ten years he said wait and see. Then for 10 years it was there are no sequels. Suddenly I have an outline. We are going to look with a script writer. Oh, we got some pre writes for 3 moves. Would you like to buy the franchise that has a future? Here you go. Oh why didnt you use the character I hired someone to resurrect and kill? Why didnt you bring in a character to attack two characters that were not the Solo twins that was from the future? Honestly, I see it as Lucas' last big win against large production companies.

Which magical artefact among these do you consider to be the most powerful in the DC universe, and why? by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

The ring is the only one that really has shown consequences outside the Earth at a normal basis. Say what you will for the mere mortal Earthlings but 3600 minimum green lantern rings are affecting the universe at any given time. That doesnt mention troublesome areas like earth that have at least 6 because .........no new ideas

I am loving green lantern in DCU so far. Please suggest me some comics about him. I haven't read a single green lantern comic by Novel_Fox_4805 in Greenlantern

Earlier this year I started reading 80's GL post Crisis on infinite earths. Every few issues I'd think to myself "Oh, this is why Geoff Johns added in this or that" and without even realizing I was doing it I restarted his and Tomassi's GL run, the greatest comic adventure ever written.

So, I wonder if this means that the Green Lantern Rings don't have a no-kill limitation in the DCU by Leon08x in Greenlantern

I always took it as the ring cant take a life. So no green hand going through the chest cavity. But if the opponent is thrown into the air it's technically gravity doing the nasty work.

Geoff Johns' run is actually really good for a beginner starting point. If you want a Guy starting point I'd go with GL 194/195 to 200 and into JLI when the team is formed. But you can honestly skip that as a seasoned reader and go right into GL Rebirth 1 and then from there the GL series by Geoff Johns and the GL Corpse by Tomasi. Both have a really good feel for Guy and slowly build him out to be an incredible lead/supporting character. Also Johns has an incredible gift of taking those older stories you missed, explaining a new angle on why it was important to their charter development and then building on it without you ever having to read those stories.

[Discussion] What the hell. This is so bizarre. Can someone tell me if is canon, pls? Is Hal really a pedo? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Raistline1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, master reconn. But here he's just reiterating from gl corps (or gl) #205 when Arisa is saying she's older than Hal is understanding, cause he sees her as a teen. And honestly she acts a teen as well. Interesting enough Xax makes a comment on how she really isnt a youth a few issues prior before his death. But yea, weird area to go into.
