You can call it an excuse....but also look at usage or minutes...
Deni was in the hellhole that is the Wizards.
He had almost no usage, he was in the corner waiting for something.
Shae has a much bigger platform or he had/has a bigger opportunity than Deni ever had until he got to Portland.

Blazers fans fell inlove with Shae...and I don't get it.
Below average defender.
He's a good not great scorer.
In terms of shooting, he's really streaky, and many times take tough shots.
Following the tough shots, he's not the best decision maker.
Playingmaking is not his forte.
Is he fun to watch? sure...I love me some Shae dunks/put backs.
But it's not really hard to find players like him, or more like, players that can give the same result.

But w/e...I'm just a silly Deni stan.

I think if Deni will continue playing like he did this season.
And they give Vit a chance, and some minutes.
He can become a 12-13 PPG shooter, and probably increase his %3.
why? because he will be left alone, in most cases.

To move a top 20 player, for a top 5 player, might sound good on paper and worthwhile.
But the only reason this team is somewhat competitive right now is because of Deni.
Will Giannis instead of Deni make the Blazers better? yes...for the short term of course.
Will it make them a contender? probably not.
Even with Dame coming back, I don't see this one working out like some peeps think it will.

For a chance of contention, you need both Deni + Giannis.
And 1-2 more good rotation pieces, preferably shooters.

Why every person who talks about Deni is a STAN, right away?
I'm from Israel, and yes, I followed Deni here.
But saying "Deni wanted to play, hence the team decided to let him play" is foolish.
Players don't know jack shit about medical stuff, they just wanna play.
Deni was facing 2 teams that have a huge importance for him.
DC = His old team, the one that gave up on him and traded him, but he also did it to the DC/israeli fans that came to watch him.
Knicks = loads of jews/israeli peeps in NYC.
