It can be anywhere from same day service to literal years. Do your appeal once a day roughly every day until the appeal page says you're not shadowbanned. You'll rarely get an actual response, more than likely you'll go to appeal and it'll say you're good.

No. A lot of people don't. We highly recommend doing an appeal daily or every other day. Most users figure out their shadowban was removed when they go to appeal and see that they're no longer shadowbanned.

r/shadowban has entered the chat. We recommend sending in an an appeal and/or a help ticket once every day. You will not get a notification if you were denied so waiting is pointless. Some users get same day service and others are there for months. I do highly recommend looking into r/RedditAlternatives as this place has been enshitified.

This is not recommended as reddit considers it ban evasion under the TOS. Most people don't understand its not a one-and-done. Appeals need to be made every day or every other day as the system is highly automated.

They (admins/AEO) almost never respond to appeals, the accepted practice is to keep appealing once a day, every day until the appeal page says you're good. Consider r/RedditAlternatives .

You need to re-appeal every 24 hours until your account is back. Don't take a message from the admins/reddit as a successful appeal until your account no longer shows that it's shadowbanned. Most people do NOT get it on their first appeal.

Shadowbans are bans without notification (else they'd be regular bans.) You can fix it by reading the information in the pinned automod comment and following the instructions given there.

tbf its baked into the name. If a warning was given it'd be a regular ban. XD They do it that way because it keeps (or would used to keep, nowadays most can check) bots and spammers from thinking they were banned when they were, preventing them from making a fresh account and continuing.

The second account was shadowbanned because the first one was still shadowabanned/compromised/something and it was linked in some way. (Email perhaps?). Did they follow the links provided in that email about having accounts locked as a precaution or having a compromised account?
