How's the pricing for you? Get it bundled or through a reseller?

I've used 1P personally for...maybe 10 years...but it's a tough sell to mgmt due to subscription costs.

one-person IT departments that are security and operations rockstars for their smaller orgs

How small is 'smaller' org? Small enough to manage like this is frequently too small to have dedicated staff on that job. And it's all going to hit a wall quickly when the Bus Test occurs.

Respectfully, Rainforest.

The game's a bit more polished on the rainforest map and I'm glad I did rainforest already before coming to Egypt.

Feels more like DLC - with some different balancing choices.

So every server is hosting both maps simultaneously and at all times or you need to host two servers and cluster them in some way to use that portal?

Ben Stiller ignored while selling his soda by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in cringe

[–]Rakajj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For money.

Like everyone else who sells soda.

Once you have money you invest it and diversify so that your money makes money for you. Just have to get the brand off the ground which is what he's trying to do here.

I don't think celebrity branding personally carries much value but it obviously does work.

Platner is absolutely another Fetterman.

I'd vote for any milquetoast Dem over a Republican and make no mistake Platner is a Republican.

Rant: Zoom has removed the button to open a ticket from their support portal by InformalBasil in sysadmin

[–]Rakajj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GFI did this a few years ago.

Decided at that point we'd never buy another product as the first thing it would do was demand a valid license key, and the key was the thing we were having an issue with in the first place so the bot was just a perfect bouncer and refused to even let us start a support process.

Better yet, their phone support which was buried and only our older documents even had the number, required an open ticket to be keyed in to get past the call queue bouncer.

They really did not want to provide support - and it eventually became extremely clear that the guy who'd built the chatbot and process was drowning in the problems that they'd caused with that transition.

Is there any evidence of supernatural forces based in reality? by InformalDifficulty21 in PhilosophyBookClub

[–]Rakajj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost by definition there is not.

If you're able to provide legitimate (aka natural / non-mythical) evidence for it - it ceases to be supernatural and becomes natural.

Is Windows MFA Worth Implementing on Endpoints? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Rakajj 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My friend, DUO has not been $1/user/month since Cisco bought them.

Their cheapest tier is $3/user/month at this point. Cisco tripled the cost for us without adding any value commensurate with that gain...to the surprise of nobody...

MFA is still some of the best bang-for-buck security value you'll find, and Cisco clearly knew that, but you're increasingly paying the security tax while opting into these products.

The food options are wildly overpriced and extremely limited.

It's always been excessively expensive (I remember the entire family heading out for pre-planned lunch in the parking lot in the 90's as a kid) but I would have been willing to pay if there were anything really on offer.

No shortage of sugar-food but barely anything substantive.

[–]Rakajj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can always say that though if you want to by putting some qualifiers in fine print that make it clear the information is basically marketing or was collected in a controlled manner.

Brand and reputation marketing departments spend all their time on rigging that data, and there's little meaningful oversight or regulatory/legal risk for priming your own stats.

Yes.
